Regime’s authorities arrest 28 at least of who ordered and executed the looting in the capital and its surroundings at the request of the Russian military police after the latter’s insult of several of them

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights obtained information from several reliable sources, who confirmed that the authorities of the regime arrested several officials responsible for the looting operations in the capital and the in Rif Dimashq, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory: the Russian military police forces requested the regime’s authorities to arrest those who carried out looting in the capital and its surroundings, in an attempt by the Russian police to gain the trust of citizens in the areas that have been looted and to expand its popular support, after series of looting operations by the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them at the south of the capital Damascus and Rif Dimashq, which prompted the authorities of the regime to arrest 28 members and commanders at least of who are responsible and carried out the looting, where the members and commanders were arrested, of those who stole houses of citizens and their properties in the destroyed areas, and moved home furniture and contents aboard trucks to other areas outside of the looted areas in front of homeowners, who the regime forces prevent most of them from returning to their homes to check them.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on 26th of May 2018 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored members of the Russian military police insulting members of pro-regime gunmen, after arresting them while they were looting houses of citizens in the southern Rif Dimashq, where the Russian police arrested them, lied them down and forced them to return the things they have looted from the houses of the citizens in Babbila town, which witnessed with the towns of Yalda and Beit Saham, during the past 2 weeks, displacement processes of hundreds of citizens and fighters with their families to the Syrian North.

This incident comes 10 days after insulting an officer of the regime forces and hitting him by members of the military police for a similar reason, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 17th of May 2018, that areas of the supporters and loyalists of the regime are witnessing a widespread resentment against the backdrop of a tension that has been taking place between the Russian Forces and the regime Forces, and in details obtained by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: this tension and the accompanying resentment happened when members of the Russian military police who are spreading in Babbila town south of Rif Dimashq; hit an officer of the regime forces and several of his members in the town, from which its people had been displaced during the past few days, where the Russian military police accused the officer and his members of stealing the houses of citizens in the town, in which the displacement agreement took place by a Russian guarantee, and what increased the discontent of regime’s public was that the military police assaulted the officers in front of the pedestrians and citizens in Babbila town.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 27th of May 2018 that Dahiyat al-Assad which is located within the eastern suburbs of the capital Damascus, opposite to Harasta city, witnessed raids carried out by the regime police, on markets in the area for selling household items and furniture, and in the details monitored by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights; the police of the regime raided the market of looted things in Dahiyat al-Assad which is inhabited by many families of the members of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, where they confiscated household items, furniture and equipment which had been looted by gunmen loyal to the regime and members of the regime forces from Harasta city, the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus and other areas in the outskirts and vicinity of the capital Damascus, after the regime forces and their allies imposed their control over them, which provoked mockery of citizens who said that the police loot what had been looted as if a thief robs another thief, in an attempt by the regime forces to absorb the resentment of the citizens and their reaction against the looting processes of the houses and property in the south of the capital Damascus, the Eastern Ghouta and other areas in the vicinity of the capital.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also published that the discontent increases among the people of Yarmouk Camp, al-Hajar al-Aswad, al-Kadam and al-Tadamon, due to the continuous looting of their homes and possessions, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the rise of resentment among displaced people of the areas that used to be controlled by the “Islamic State” organization south of the capital Damascus, because of regime’s deliberate continuous looting of property and contents of houses, large part of which have been damaged and destroyed by the rocket and aerial shelling by the regime forces, warplanes and helicopters using thousands of shells and missiles on the area, where the looting takes place in front of their owners, by the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, who transport them to areas outside of Yarmouk Camp, al-Kadam, al-Tadamon and al-Hajar al-Aswad south of Damascus.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights received information from local residents, who confirmed that some people were able to enter the areas used to be controlled by the “Islamic State” organization before the control of the regime forces and their allies of them, while others were prevented from entering, where tens of people are still waiting to be allowed to enter the area, while a boy from Yarmouk Camp was killed by gunfire of members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, residents from the area said that the boy wanted to protect his home from being looted by regime’s loyal gunmen in the area, but members of the gunmen loyal to the regime quickly shot and killed him, which increased people’s resentment.
