Due to disagreements on administrative and service points, Ariha City Council dissolves itself of the “National Rescue Government”

Idlib province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Ariha City Council issued a statement announcing its dissolve of the “rescue government”, where it says: “based on the requirements of the public interest in Ariha city, we decide the following:

  1. Disconnecting from and halting interaction of Ariha city’s departments with the departments of Idlib city completely.
  2. This decision shall be informed to whom is required to carry out.
  3. This decision shall be considered effective starting from its date.”

The sources of the Syrian Observatory reported that this dissolve was the result of previous disagreements between both parties and which hare renewed occasionally, where the latest disagreement was about the rescue government’s water pumping suspension from the stations of al-Mastouma and Sijer to Ariha city, after which the Council of Ariha announced its dissolve; just like what Maarrat al-Nu’man City Council did earlier when it dissolved itself from the Rescue Government, also the rescue government created a great resentment in the streets of Idlib, due to its practices of imposing money on water, electricity and cleaning , let alone its interventions in people’s affairs in the countryside of Idlib.

It noteworthy that on Thursday the 2nd of November 2017; the procedure of forming the “National Rescue Government” are completed by approving the ministers selected to receive their duties in the Government by the head of Government Dr. Mohammed al-Sheikh, and this Government will administer the areas controlled by the rebel and Islamic factions and Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham in Idlib Province, the western and southern countryside of Aleppo,  the northern and northeastern countryside of Hama, and the northern countryside of Latakia, provided that all official institutions and circles will be attached to this Government. Reliable sources in the Government confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the Government has no relation with Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, on the contrary; it has emerged as a powerful authority within the areas controlled by the factions, despite the presence of the Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham which controls vast portions of Idlib Province, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on Saturday the 7th of October 2017 that a meeting took place at Bab-Hawa border crossing between Idlib province and the Iskenderun, the meeting was organized by Syrian opponents in the Syrian interior, from which a “National Rescue Government” was formed, the meeting included opponents from several Syrian areas during which a President of the National Rescue Government was elected, he is the Dr. Mohammed al-Sheikh of Idlib Province, and the election of the Government came after holding the General Syrian Conference from which a founding body emerged and after that the preparation started for the National Rescue Government, whose president was elected today, and the reliable sources confirmed that the members, offices and work of this Government will be in the Syrian interior. The sources also confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the Government opposes the Turkish – Russian –Iranian intervention in the Syrian interior, and opposes the fighting between the rebel factions and movements operating on Syrian soil, while the process of announcing the Government and electing its President comes in conjunction with the Turkish – Russian –Iranian movements in preparation for a military operation in Idlib Province.
