Iranian forces secure the road of Bokamal – T2 and ISIS continues its attempts to threaten road of Tehran – Beirut

West of Euphrates River in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor is witnessing continuous military operation, in which the “Islamic State” organization seeks to achieve its goals in inflicting human losses repeatedly in the ranks of the regime forces and its allies, while the latter seeks to secure its forces and end the existence of the Organization and secure its Strategic goals, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored in the past 24 hours the “Islamic State” Organization carrying out 3 simultaneous attacks in an area of about 25 km in size, where the attack was focused on the deserts of al-Jala’a, al-Salhiyyeh and al-Dwayr in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, after which violent clashes took place between ISIS members against the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, accompanied by exchange of targeting in the clash areas between both parties which caused casualties, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of at least 7 members of the organization, and at least 4 of the gunmen loyal to the regime of non-Syrian nationalities, in addition to injuries in the ranks of both parties.

These attacks, in which the “Islamic State” is trying to threaten the road of Tehran – Beirut, of which the Iranian forces with the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities; have been able to secure several months ago after a large military operation, also the Iranian forces have been able to secure the road between al-Bokamal city near the Syrian – Iraqi border and the 2nd Station “T2” in the southeastern Desert of Deir Ezzor, after intensive operations by these forces to secure this road.

Thus, it rose to 1062, the number of deaths of both parties who have been documented by the Syrian Observatory, in the provinces of Damascus, Deir Ezzor and Homs, where it rose to 641, the number of members of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them who were killed in 2 months of clashes in al-Bokamal Desert, the countryside of Deir Ezzor, south of the capital Damascus and the eastern outskirts of Homs, where 2 thirds of them were killed in the south of Damascus, also it rose to 421 at least, the number of members of the “Islamic State” organization who were killed in the same battles, since the recovery of the Organization in the 13th of March 2018, also tens of others of both parties were killed and the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation, in addition to the presence of missing members and captives in the ranks of the both parties.

Among the total number of casualties the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of at least 107 members of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, 2 of them were executed and 9 of them are of the Russian Forces, during clashes and confrontations accompanied by detonating members of the “Islamic State” organization for themselves suing booby trapped vehicle and explosive belts in the clash sites, also the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of 50 members of the organization in these clashes, which have been carried out out-of-a-sudden in the eastern countryside of Homs and Deir Ezzor since the 22nd of May 2018 until today.

It is noteworthy that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has been monitoring since the 13th of March 2018, the start of attacks by the “Islamic State” Organization, which were started by an attack in the capital Damascus, and enabled it to expand in al-Kadam neighbourhood in the southern part of the capital, followed by attacks targeted the 2nd Station, which was also controlled by the Organization south of al-Bokamal, and other attacks in Hmimeh area and al-Mayadin Desert, amid targeting sites of the regime forces and their allies west of Euphrates river in the eastern and southeastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, also these successive attacks have caused significant casualties in the ranks of members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, and as well as the ranks of members of the “Islamic State” Organization, also this violent attack of ISIS comes weeks after the control of the organization declined in the eastern banks of the Euphrates River, within the towns of Abu Al-Hassan, al-Sha’afa, Al-Baghouz, Al-Bobdara, and its districts, following the entire end of its presence in the western banks of the Euphrates River, where the SDF managed to control most of the east of the Euphrates except for the aforementioned enclave, where reliable sources confirmed to the SOHR that the organization organized its ranks in the recent stage in order to attempt to expand the organization’s controlled areas at the expense of its rivals in its areas of presence.
