Within the continuous efforts to reach a regional – international consensus on the Syrian south, Daraa province and its surroundings witness targeting and clashes between the factions and the regime forces
Daraa province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: clashes took place dawn on today Tuesday, the 5th of June 2018, between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, against the rebel and Islamic factions, in areas in the vicinity and outskirts of al-Yadudeh town west of Daraa city, in an attempt by the regime forces to advance in the area, accompanied by exchange of targeting between both parties, but no information about casualties yet, these clashes took place near Daraa city, after targeting by the factions and Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham for sites of the regime forces and the Lebanese Hezbollah in the area of the triangle of Daraa – Quneitra – southwest of Rif Dimashq, and after the shelling that took place on Monday evening, the 4th of June by the regime forces, which targeted areas in the northwestern countryside of Daraa, this comes within the continuous escalation and exchange of targeting between both parties, which coincides with preparations and alerts by both parties for a military operation the Syrian south, along with the continued efforts to achieve an agreement on the Syrian south.
And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published in the past days that the regime forces and their allies in the Syrian South started their mobilization in preparations for a military operation; in the case of the failure of the negotiations which are underway between regional and international parties about the situation in the Syrian South, about which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights received information, and according to the information; negotiations are underway between regional and international parties about the current and future situation of the military forces operating in the countryside of Daraa and Quneitra, and the information reported that Jordanian – American – Russian consultations are taking place about several points concerning the stay of the rebel and Islamic factions operating in Daraa; in exchange for handing over their medium and heavy weapons, and the entry of Russian military police, and that any force or members belong to the Iranian forces, the Lebanese Hezbollah and their affiliated militia will not enter, and the border points will be handed over to regime’s police and its border guards, and also the area will be managed by local councils that will be formed from residents of the area.
