The state Department has accused Russia of killing civilians in Idlib
The US state Department accused Moscow of killing civilians during an air strike on the Russian VKS 7 June on the village Sardan in the Syrian governorate of Idlib.
“We have seen reports about 44 Syrians, including 6 children, killed in a Russian airstrike in Sardan, tweeted state Department spokesman Heather North. – We stand in solidarity with the Syrian people, victims of the government (of Syria) and his allies and call on Russia to stop the senseless killing of the civilian population of Syria.”
According to human rights activists, among the dead in the airstrike – 11 women. It was also reported more than 70 injured.
Zardan about the strike on 8 June, said Syrian Observatory for human rights (SOHR) and the Syrian humanitarian organization “White helmets”.
Airstrike 7 August was the deadliest attack among made in Idlib in the current year.
On may 8 the Russian aircraft bombed a school in the village Nachr in the South of Idlib. Killed two children and one adult. Several people, most of them children, were injured.
The North-Western governorate of Idlib, which is near the border with Turkey, is the most populated area of Syria, which remains under rebel control.
