The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 7th of June 2018, that the supply roads of Lattakia countryside which are Jabal al-Akrad and Jabal al-Turkman are witnessing frequent targeting by the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, where they are considered areas that are monitored by artillery and thermal missiles, because the regime forces are positioned on heights in the area, like Qal’aat Shalaf and al-Nabi Yunis summit which monitors the movements of Jabal al-Akrad, and the heights of the township of Rabiaa, Burj al-Bayda’a, Zahiya and Abu Ali hill in Jabal al-Turkman, these heights facilitated the process of monitoring parts of the western countryside of Jesr al-Shughur which is adjacent to Latakia mountains, thus, targeting military vehicles on this road, where the factions and their members take precautions when they take these roads, so they do not fall into ambushes and fire of the regime forces and their gunmen and missiles, and near the Syrian coastline and in a similar manner; areas in Sahl al-Ghab at the northwestern countryside of Hama are witnessing similar targeting operations by the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, through their monitoring for the roads of al-Ankawi – Qal’aat al-Madiq, Mansoura – Qal’aat al-Madiq and the roads leading to al-Ziyara, Khirbat al-Naqous and other towns in the area, where they target by thermal missiles, shells and heavy machineguns vehicles of the factions and even the civilians.

It worth mention that the triangle of Sahl al-Ghab – Jabal al-Akrad – west of Jesr al-Shughur, is considered an area under consultation between Turkey and Russia, for the withdrawal of the factions from it in exchange for handing over Tal Rifaat for the Turkish forces, where the Syrian Observatory published on the 31st of May 2018 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights obtained information about disagreements between the forces allied with the regime about a new agreement in the northern countryside of Aleppo and west Syria, and in the details confirmed by reliable sources of the Syrian Observatory: disagreements are taking place between Russian Forces and Iranian Forces about Tal Rifaat area and the areas around it in the northern countryside of Aleppo, which were taken from the rebel and Islamic factions in early 2016, the disagreement took place after a Russian offer to hand over Tal Rifaat area and its surroundings to the Turkish forces; in exchange for the withdrawal of the rebel and Islamic factions from the triangle of west Jesr al-Shughur – Sahl al-Ghab – the northeastern countryside of Latakia, where this agreement provoked the Iranian side after its previous refusal in March 2018 the entry of the Turkish forces and opposition factions to Tal Rifaat area, which was accompanied by an Iranian escalation and threat if the Turkish Forces and Syrian opposition factions stormed Tal Rifaat area, after controlling Afrin area by Operation “Olive branch”.
