International Coalition strikes kill 18 people at least in a town within the last enclave of ISIS in the east bank of Euphrates

Deir Ezzor province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the east bank of Euphrates River in the eastern sector of the countryside of Deir Ezzor, witnessed bombardment by the International Coalition and clashes in the area, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored violent clashes between the Syria Democratic Forces against members of the “Islamic State” organization, in areas in the Desert of al-Shafa town, on the outskirts of the last ISIS enclave at the east bank of Euphrates, and the clashes –which were started by an attack by members of the Organization on sites of the Syria Democratic Forces who are supported by the International Coalition– coincided with airstrikes carried out by Coalition warplanes on areas in al-Shafa town, which caused significant human casualties, where at least 7 civilians were killed and 2 others were injured, and 11 members of the “Islamic State” Organization were also killed in these raids, and the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation.

In the name context, al-Baghuz area in the east of Euphrates River (which is controlled by the “Islamic State” organization) witnessed shelling by the regime forces who are located in the west of Euphrates, where they targeted places in the area in conjunction with targeting by members of the Organization for locations of the regime forces and their allies of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities in the area, while the Syrian Observatory published about 48 hours ago that ISIS last enclave at the eastern banks of the Euphrates River is witnessing a cessation of exchange of targeting between the International Coalition and the SDF against the organization, in the vicinity of the areas which are still controlled by the organization in the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, where this area is witnessing sporadic shelling by artillery shells, missiles and airstrikes by the International Coalition and the SDF, while the last round of clashes between the both parties, was on the 16th of June 2018, while the clashes have stopped since early June in the vicinity of Hajin and the areas adjacent it, as a result of the failure of SDF and the International Coalition at taking the control of the area.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned from a number of reliable sources, that ISIS last enclave at the eastern bank of the Euphrates River witnessed infiltrations, where members of the organization have infiltrated to the western banks of the Euphrates River, in order to carry out operations against the regime forces and their allies in the area stretched from the Iraqi border to Deir Ezzor countryside, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published in early June 2018, that the fighting has stopped on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, following the failure of SDF and the International Coalition to advance in the last remaining enclave of ISIS at the eastern banks of Euphrates River in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, and after their failure to break into Hajin town for which the Organization desperately fought to repel the attack on the town and on the rest of the enclave.
