Continuous violent clashes and intense aerial and ground shelling on Daraa countryside raise the death toll and the regime forces attack areas northeast of Daraa to achieve a new advancement

Daraa Province, the Syrian Observatory for human rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the escalation of military operations in eastern and northeastern countryside of Daraa Province, where violent clashes are taking place between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against the rebel and Islamic factions, in places in al-Lajat area, after an attack by the regime forces on the villages between the borders of al-Suwaidaa, Daraa, and Mahja area, in an attempt by the regime forces to advance in this area, after they were able to advance and take control of 2 villages include several houses and farm at least in al-Lajat area, and the clashes are accompanied by intense exchange of targeting in the clash areas, in conjunction with targeting by warplanes using missiles and heavy machineguns for places in al-Shayyah area, and other areas under the control of the factions, amid artillery and missile shelling by the regime forces on areas in Jadal village and other places and villages in al-Lajat area, in conjunction with shelling by missiles believed to be ground-to-ground on Msikah town  in al-Lajat area, and shelling by the regime forces on areas in the towns of Alma, al-Sora, al-Naemeh and the Eastern Kark, which killed a person and injured several others in al-Naemeh, raising to at least 18, the number of civilians who were killed since last Tuesday until today, Saturday, as a result of shelling by the regime forces on the countryside of Daraa, including a woman and her son, and 3 female citizens and 2 children, and the Syrian Observatory documented the death of 3 citizens (two of them are children) were killed in the fall of shells on areas in al-Matar neighborhood in Daraa city and other places in al-Sanamayn city, also the regime forces shelled areas in Daraa al-Balad by several rocket shells, while shells fell on areas in Harran village which is controlled by the regime forces in the western countryside of al-Suwaidaa city, which caused material damage but no information about casualties, also the factions targeted sites of the regime forces on the highway of Daraa-Damascus by several shells, which caused material damage and information about casualties in the ranks of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published hours ago that the shelling, targeting, and clashes continue to escalate in the northeastern countryside of Daraa, and in the details monitored by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights on Saturday, the 23rd of June 2018: the regime forces continue to target the countryside of Daraa, where the shelling targeted areas in al-Msifra, Bosr al-Harir, al-Hrak, and Nahta in the eastern countryside of Daraa, amid an escalated artillery and missile shelling targeting places  in al-Lajat area, in conjunction with intense raids by warplanes targeting areas of Jadal, al-Shayyah, Msikah, Asim, the surroundings of al-Bustan and al-Shomra areas, which caused more destruction in citizens’ property but no information about casualties, while the regime forces targeted areas in Dael town in the mid-sector countryside of Daraa, and the shelling was accompanied by the most violent clashes since the beginning of the escalation several days ago, between the regime Forces and militiamen loyal to them against the rebel and Islamic factions, in areas at the administrative borders between the provinces of Daraa and  al-Suwaidaa, where the regime forces advanced and controlled the villages of al-Bustan and al-Shomariyyeh which consist of several houses and farms, where the clashes are accompanied by intense exchange of targeting, amid confirmed information about casualties in the ranks of both parties.

The warplanes and helicopters targeted yesterday the countryside of Daraa with more than 33 airstrikes, during which towns of Bosr al-Harir, Nahta, al-Hrak, Mlehat al-Atash, and al-Mjidel were targeted, where the Syrian Observatory published yesterday, Friday, that the regime forces fired shells on places in Al-Shiyah village and other places in Al-Lajat area, which resulted in the death of a citizen and the injury of 2 other persons of his family with varying severity, raising to17 at least, the number of citizens who have been killed since Tuesday and until today, Friday, as a result of shelling by the regime forces on Daraa countryside, including a citizen woman and her son as well as 3 other citizen women and 2 child girls, and the SOHR also documented the death of 3 citizens including 2 children who were killed due to the fall of shells on areas in Al-Matar neighborhood in Daraa city and other places in Al-Sanamayn city, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday, Thursday, that the rocket and artillery shelling continued on the eastern sector of Daraa countryside, where the regime forces targeted areas in the towns of this countryside by more shells, which resulted in increasing the number of rocket and artillery shells and missiles which were fired on Daraa countryside to more than 430 shells, where they targeted the villages and towns of Al-Karak Al-Sharqi, Nahta, Bosr al-Harir, Eastern Maliha, Western Maliha and Om Walad in the eastern sector of Daraa countryside, al-Lajat area in the north-eastern countryside of Daraa, Abtaa in the middle countryside of Daraa, and Kafr Nasej in the north-western countryside of Daraa, and this shelling aims to force the factions operating in the countryside of Daraa  –which have agreed to form a central operation room in the Syrian south– to yield and accept the Russian conditions to achieve a “reconciliation and agreement” in Daraa and Quneitra provinces, and to preventing a military action that would cause a large human losses of civilians, fighters, members of both parties, also the regime forces are shelling these areas which include the least number of villages; trying to find a corridor for them in case no agreement was reached, to start a military operation that would split factions’-controlled areas, where the factions control the largest part of Daraa and Al-Quneitra, while the regime forces targeted sites of the factions, and information about casualties, also the return of shelling to Daraa came after hours of relative calm, in the wake of violent clashes and intense shelling by tens of artillery and rocket shells by the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them on the eastern and northeastern countryside of Daraa, which caused a massive displacement of citizens towards areas away from the shelling and fighting, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored within the past 48 hours of military operations the displacement of about 12500 people from the villages and towns of Bosr al-Harir, Eastern Mleha, Western Mleha, al-Hrak, Msikah, Asim, al-Shomarah, al-Shayyah, and al-Bostan in the eastern countryside of Daraa, amid fears of the increase of displacement due to the military operations east of the province, after the failure of the international parties in finding a solution to the situation of the Syrian south, with the continued stubbornness of the Iranian forces, their allies,  and the gunmen supported by them; in withdrawing from the area according to the regional and international conditions imposed to achieve the solution in the Syrian south.
