12 days after kidnapping him…unidentified gunmen kill the “chief of the reconciliation committee” in one of the towns of Daraa countryside within the ongoing assassinations since the start of the preparation for Daraa Battle

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that unidentified gunmen have assassinated Bashar Al-Shahhadat, the chief of the “reconciliation committee” in Da’el town, few days after he had been kidnapped and taken to unknown place, where he was killed by gunfire, which caused his death, as a part of the series of assassinations which targeted members in reconciliation committees in Daraa countryside, where the Syrian Observatory published on the 14th of June 2018, that Unidentified persons kidnapped the “chief of the reconciliation committee” in Da’el town which is located in the central countryside of Daraa, where sources confirmed to the Syrian observatory that the kidnapping took place today in the afternoon, and the chief was taken to a destination that is still unknown so far, where this kidnapping comes as a part of the escalated assassinations all over Daraa province most of which targeted members of the reconciliation with the regime, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published hours ago, that assassinations continue at an escalating pace all over Daraa province in the Syrian south, coincided with the Russian proposals to hold local consultations to reach an agreement on the southern part of Syria, –after the hindering of the regional – international consultations– to reach an agreement about the Syrian south.

And with the fall of more human losses, it rose to 31 the number of people who were assassinated by unidentified gunmen whether by kidnappings and murder, shooting, and IED detonations, and among them there are 12 of the “reconciliation committees members”, since the 25th of May 2018, the date of dropping leaflets by the regime forces on the  area calling for “stopping the bloodshed, the return to the homeland and handing over weapons”, where the assassinations started to be escalated in Daraa along with the start of the regime’s mobilizations and its threats of the military operation that is being prepared for, in the Syrian South, since the regime forces dropped leaflets calling for “reconciliation, drop of weapons, and, cooperation to stop the bloodshed” on the 25th of May, where this assassination and the other ongoing assassinations come after the start of mobilization by the regime forces and their allies in the Syrian South in preparations for a military operation in the case of the failure of the negotiations which are underway between regional and international parties about the situation in the Syrian South.
