The 2 bombings of Afrin claim the lives of 9 civilians and fighters in center of the city and near the Turkish Forces headquarters, the city is on alert and its entrances are closed

The number of casualties continue to rise in Afrin city, as a result of the 2 violent explosions which targeted the center of the city, where one of the explosions hit an area near Kawa al-Haddad roundabout in the center of the city, while the other one targeted a location near the headquarters of the Turkish Forces on the road to Dirsem Hospital, and the sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that it rose to 9 at least; the number of people who were killed in both bombings including at least 4 fighters, and the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation.

The Syrian Observatory also monitored the absence of movement inside Afrin city after the bombings, where the Turkish Forces have closed the city’s entrances and deployed their patrols and members in the city, along with closing the stores and shops in the city and the spread of the factions within the city, which was accompanied by hearing gunfire inside the city, caused by gunfire from machineguns, but the reasons for the shooting are not known until the moment, and these two explosions came hours after an internal fight between the factions of “Olive Branch” Operation, where the Syrian Observatory published this morning that Afrin city which is located in the northwest countryside of Aleppo, is witnessing tension between the factions of “Olive Branch” Operation, who control Afrin city and its countryside under the command of the Turkish Forces, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights: a disagreement between took place between al-Mu’tasim Brigade and al-Jabha al-Shamiyyah inside Afrin city, and it turned into fight and clashes between both parties using machineguns, and according to sources of the Syrian Observatory; the cause of clashes was a disagreement over a military checkpoint, and the fight turned into clashes using heavy machineguns and grenades near Kawa roundabout in al-Ashrafieh area inside Afrin city, which caused casualties, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documenting the death of at least 1 member of the factions and the injury of about 10 others with varying severity.
