Hours after Da’el massacre…a new massacre in Daraa countryside claims the lives of 7 citizens including 3 children and raises to about 65, the number of civilian casualties since the start of escalation

Daraa Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the regime forces continue their targeting to Daraa countryside, deliberately expanding, with the support of the Russian warplanes, the patch of bombardment towards the Syrian – Jordanian border, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the warplanes carried out raids targeting areas in the eastern countryside of Daraa and areas in Al-Tayba town which is near the Syrian – Jordanian border, along with artillery shelling by the regime forces on areas in Om al-Mayathen town, which caused a new massacre in Al-Tayba town, leaving 7 casualties at least including 3 children, and the death toll is expected to increase due to the presence of injured cases in serious conditions, in addition to the presence of missing people whose destiny is not known so far, this massacre comes hours after the massacre of Da’el which left 5 casualties including 3 babies and a woman, raising to 63 citizens at least including a woman and her son, in addition to 8 women and 12 children, as well as 2 members of the civil defense, the number of citizens whose death has been documented by the SOHR as a result of the aerial, artillery and rocket shelling by the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them on several villages and towns in Daraa countryside, since the 19th of June 2018.

The SOHR also monitored that the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, managed to achieve new advancement and take the control of the towns of Eastern Mleha and Western Mleha, amid violent clashes in the vicinity of both towns in an attempts by the factions to regain the control of them, also fierce clashes are taking place between the both parties in the northern and eastern parts of Al-Hrak town, in an attempt by the regime forces to take the control of the town, along with similar clashes in the Brigade 52 which is a military base of the regime forces in the east of Al-Hrak town, amid violent aerial, artillery and rocket shelling on the clash areas, to force the factions to withdraw from the town, and cut the supply lines to the battle fronts in the town, the SOHR also monitored targeting by the factions to a warplanes while it was carrying raids on the eastern countryside of Daraa.

In the same context, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the regime forces sweeping the villages of Al-Lajat area in the north-eastern countryside of Daraa province, where the area includes more than 20 villages and towns, which are free of the presence of fighters, who were forces, during the control of the regime forces on Bosr Al-Harir and Maliha Al-Atash two days ago, to withdraw from the area before being completely besieged by the regime forces, where the factions have withdrawn towards the factions’ controlled areas in the eastern countryside of Daraa, while the regime forces have not entered the entire villages and towns of Al-Lajat area so far, and the Syrian Observatory also published few hours ago, that reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the displacement movement of people continues as the regime forces expand the air and ground shelling as well as the warplanes and helicopters of the regime and Russians, where tens of thousands of civilians have been displaced, they left their homes, villages, and towns and displaced toward areas far from the shelling and bombing, while reliable sources confirmed that the regime forces and after closing the roads in the face of the displaced people towards their controlled areas; have opened 2 main crossings towards their controlled areas, one of which is the Abu Kasir crossing near Dael area and the second one is Kafr Shams crossing in the northwestern countryside; for the displaced people coming from the countryside of Daraa and wish to enter areas controlled by the regime forces away of the artillery, missile, and aerial bombardment that follow them, where the regime forces opened 3 shelters for the displaced people in the towns of Izra’a, Jabab and Qerfah.
