In the biggest massacre in over a year, air raids on a shelter in al-Msifra kill 17 civilians and raise the death toll to 93 civilians in Daraa Province during the escalation

Daraa Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the escalating of airstrikes carried out by Russian and regime’s warplanes, and helicopters, where the number of raids carried out by warplanes and the barrels dropped by helicopters of the regime has raised to about 200 raids and barrels, including about 28 barrel bombs dropped on areas in the countryside of Daraa, while the strikes targeted al-Msifra, Eastern al-Kark, al-Hrak, al-Gharya, Bosra al-Sham, Nawa, Rakham, Abtaa, Dael, al-Jaydour, Ma’araba, and Jamrin. The intense aerial bombardment on al-Msifra town have caused a massacre which is the highest in terms of number of casualties in Daraa Province in more than a year, since the escalation began on the 19th of June 2018, where the Syrian Observatory documented the death of 17 civilians including at least 5 children and including women; as a result of the bombardment by warplanes on one of the basements “shelter”, in which the citizens took refuge protecting themselves from the airstrikes, and the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation, raising to 46 including 15 children and 5 women at least, the number of people who were killed since Wednesday morning, raising to 93 civilian casualties including a woman and her son, as well as 12 woman and 17 children, and 2 members of the civil defense, they were killed by artillery and rocket shelling, and bombardment by the Russian and regime’s warplanes and helicopters on the countryside of Daraa.

The Syrian Observatory published yesterday night that it rose to 22 at least, the number of members of the regime forces and their allies who were killed in detonating 2 booby trapped vehicles targeted them in Nahte town, raising to 58 at least, the number of members of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them including officers, of who were killed in the shelling and clashes during the same period, in Daraa countryside, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also documented that the number of factions’ fighters who have been killed in the aerial and ground shelling and violent clashes, since the 19th of June 2018.
