In 24 hours after the end of military operation in Daraa…more than 28000 displaced people return to their villages and towns in the countryside of the province
Daraa Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: ambiguity is still surrounding the 2 bombings which were heard in the area of Nasib Crossing, on the Syrian – Jordanian border, where it is not known until now whether the bombings were caused by landmine explosions in the area of the crossing during sweeping it by the regime forces, where that is accompanied by the continuation of citizens to return to their villages and towns from which they have been displaced in the south-eastern sector of Daraa countryside, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored during 24 hours, from yesterday afternoon, Friday, and until today at 4:00 pm, Saturday the 7th of July 2018, that more than 28000 displaced people returned to the towns and villages of Bosra al-Sham, Ghasm, Al-Tayba, Om al-Mayathen, Nasib, Ma’araba, Kherbeh, al-Sahwa, Jbib, al-Jiza, Om Walad, al-Msifra and Eastern al-Gharya, amid continued return of citizens after stopping the military operations, in the wake of the agreement that was reached between the Russian side and between the representatives of Daraa province.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the displaced people are still refusing to return to the towns of al-Hrak, Sayda, Al-Naimah, Bosr al-Harir, Nahta, al-Sorah and Kahil, which are witnessing thefts by the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, where the residents are fearing of repeating a scenario similar to that one which took place in the Eastern Ghouta, when the regime forces ignored the Russian guarantees and arrested and took hundreds of young men from the cities and towns of the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus and from the shelter centers and recruited them in the ranks of their army, and local centers confirmed to the SOHR that they are afraid of the Russia’s non-commitment to its guarantees towards the residents and of being arrested, as well as their fears of the deliberated ignore by the regime to the Russian guarantees towards the agreement which was reached between the representatives of Daraa and the Russian side, amid fears of arresting their sons and the young men who defaulted the compulsory military service, and of driving them to perform the military service in the regime’s military headquarters and barracks.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also published hours ago, that the regime forces continue to repeat the same scenes in the countryside of Daraa, after carrying them out in the Eastern Ghouta, al-Qalamoun, Homs countryside, Hama countryside, south of Damascus and south of Rif Dimashq, where at the time where the regime and its military forces cause more victims whether they were casualties, wounded, displaced or homeless people, they are trying to highlight their “humanitarian” side in front of the public and international opinion, but their humanity only comes to the areas in which the “reconciliations and settlements” are conducted, which the regime considers as “coming back to the motherland”, while the regime forces pour their wrath on those who did not become obedient to them, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored on Saturday the 7th of July 2018 that a Red Crescent convoy with food, humanitarian, and medical aid headed to Abtaa town, which has entered in a “reconciliation” with the regime about a week ago after meetings between representatives of the town and the Russians, while this aid comes at the same time as the humanitarian and health conditions of thousands of displaced people on the border with the Syrian Golan and the Syrian – Jordanian border go worst by the day, as a result of fears among the displaced people to return to their towns and villages which are controlled by the regime forces, because they fear that the regime may arrest their youths and take them to the compulsory military service, and arrest and investigating with others, after the regime ignores the Russian guarantees, as it did in the Eastern Ghouta when it carried out arrests, raids, and searches in the cities and towns of the Eastern Ghouta in search of wanted people.
