After adding 4 towns to regime’s control in the western countryside of Daraa, the Russian police enter Tafas town and the regime forces gain a new area at the contact lines with Jaysh Khalid Ibn al-Walid

Daraa Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that military police vehicles entered Tafas town in the western countryside of Daraa, after a “reconciliation” agreement took place between the factions and representatives of Tafas town and between the Russians and the regime, where the town, its surroundings, and the nearby hills have become within the regime forces’ controlled areas, and the heavy weapon will be handed over during the coming hours or days by the rebel and Islamic factions operating in the area, and by this agreement the regime forces were able to reach the contact line with Khaled Ibn al-Walid which swore allegiance to the “Islamic State” organization, after they had one contact line from the side of Hayt town at the Syrian – Jordanian border.

In the same context, the regime forces continue to spread within Daraa province in the Syrian south, and in each advancement operation they add more areas to their controlled area within the province and decrease the size of areas controlled by the factions, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a consensus with representatives of 4 towns in the northwestern countryside of Daraa, about the entry of the regime forces based on the agreement with the Russians, which ended the hostilities, and by that, the regime forces have expanded their controlled areas and advancement more in the province, and the regime forces now control about 80% of the area of Daraa Province, decreasing the factions’ control to 13.3% of the area of the province, the expansion of the regime forces in the western countryside of Daraa comes after consensus on handing over the heavy weapons, and the return of regime’s institutions to service, provided that the agreement be activated during the coming 24 hours. This control and expand come after massive killing and destruction of citizens property and infrastructure in the areas which were shelled, after violent attacks by the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, in addition to the “reconciliation” operations in several towns and villages, where this shelling resulted in the death of 162 citizens including 32 children and 33 women, who have been killed since the 19th of June 2018, in the raids, intense rocket and artillery shelling and raids by the Russians and regime on Daraa Province, and in mine explosion, also the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented at least 135 casualties of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them who have been killed since the 19th of June 2018, the date of starting the regime’s military operation in Daraa countryside, while the SOHR documented the death of 132 fighters at least of the rebel and Islamic factions who were killed in the same period, as a result of the aerial and rocket shelling and clashes, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also published yesterday morning, that it monitored the regime forces continue to be deployed on the Syrian-Jordanian border today, Monday, the 9th of July 2018, where the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them advanced in the western countryside of Daraa, by imposing their control over the areas of Tal Shihab, Zayzoun, and Hayt, and they become in control of the entire areas of factions on the border with Jordan, also, for the first time since more than five years ago they become in contact with Jaysh Khalid Ibn al-Walid; which swore allegiance to the “Islamic State” Organization, and the Syrian Observatory monitored the regime forces deploy in vehicles, armored vehicles, and military forces on the entire border, where this borderline from al-Suwaidaa Province until the areas that are controlled by Jaysh Khalid Ibn al-Walid; has become under the control of the regime forces, Including Nasib border crossing with Jordan.
