After the reformation of a military force composed of 1000 fighters of the displaced people of Al-Ghouta and the central Syria…Al-Rahman Corps prepares the Brigade 135 in Afrin and buys weapons and ammunition

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights obtained information reporting that Al-Rahman Corps which has displaced from the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, is preparing the Brigade 135 which used to be controlled by he Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) before the Operation “Olive Branch”, for starting training its fighters and those who recently joined it, and in the details documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights; Al-Rahman Corps tends to build dormitories and training yards, in the Brigade 135 in the north-eastern sector of Afrin area, in conjunction with raising high dirt barriers in the vicinity of the Brigade, for starting to train its fighters after they have been displaced months ago to the Syrian North and Afrin area, and reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory, that Al-Rahman Corps is continuing to recruit fighters in its ranks, through joining fighters of those who have been displaced from the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, the countryside of the capital Damascus, and from both northern countryside of Homs and southern countryside of Hama, to volunteer in its ranks for monthly salary, where the number of fighters exceeded 1000 fighters, and Al-Rahman Corps tends, along with these preparations, to by heavy machineguns and various weapons and ammunition to arm itself.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 15th of May 2018, that it obtained information from several reliable sources that one of the military faction of the Eastern Ghouta, had rearranged its ranks in Afrin area northwest of Aleppo Province, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Rahman Corps led by Abdel Nasser Shammar and with the support of the Turkish authorities is repairing the headquarters of the Brigade 135 a few kilometers northeast of Afrin city, which used to be a camp for YPG, and the reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the restructuring of Rahman Corps, in addition to the repairing of the buildings of the Brigade 135, was conducted under the direct supervision of Abdel Nasser Shammar who defected of the regime forces, and holds the position of commander of Rahman Corps, where he gave his direct orders for repairing the headquarters of the brigade 135, after receiving the approval of the Turkish authorities, who have been controlling Afrin area completely since the 18th of March 2018, after a military operation under the name of “Olive Branch” carried out by the Turkish Forces and the Syrian opposition the rebel and Islamic factions, which began on the 20th of January 2018, during which hundreds of civilians and fighters were killed of the Kurdish Forces, the factions and the Turkish forces, also, Rahman Corps is trying to get its former members and the young people who were displaced from the Eastern Ghouta, to join a one-month duration military course organized by Rahman Corps, and according to the course they will join the ranks of Rahman Corps for a monthly salary of up to US $200, after handing over the Individual weapons.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also published on the 30th of May 2018, that a disagreement took place inside the camp of Al-Rahman Corps, which it sat up in Afrin area in the north-western countryside of Aleppo, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights; a disagreement took place inside Al-Rahman Corps’ camp in the area of the Brigade 135 in Sharra Township in the north-eastern countryside of Afrin, started with a verbal argument between members of Al-Rhaman Corps and the Corps’ leadership which was located in the camp including the leader of Al-Rahman Corps -the dissident Captain Abdel Nasser Shammar, about accusations between the fighters of “selling the Eastern Ghouta, mistreat of the fighters who have been displaced from it to the Syrian North, handing over of the Eastern Ghouta, treason and non-payment of salaries to them by the leadership of Al-Rahman Corps”, which developed to a fight between the guards of Abdel Nasser Shammar and between a group called Abu Muhammed Al-Rastan’s Brigade, then the leadership of Al-Rahman Corps expelled Abu Muhammed Al-Rastan’s Brigade which is composed of about 35 members, where they have been sent out of the camp, then this brigade sat a roadblock on the road to Afrin city, and stole a vehicle of Al-Rahman Corps, followed by intervention of a commander of the corps who managed to restore the vehicle in return for a promise to pay the brigade’s dues tomorrow, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also published on the 8th of May 2018, that it monitored tension between the General Command of Rahman Corps and the leadership of Jobar neighborhood of Damascus in particular, in one hand, and between the Local Council of Jobar neighborhood on the other hand, after disagreements on ancient manuscripts and relics which were in the custody of leadership of Rahman Corps in Jobar neighborhood, and in the details which the Syrian Observatory was able to document: before the displacement process the Local Council of Jobar neighborhood trusted Rahman Corps on Jewish manuscripts and relics, used to be located in the synagogue within the Damascus neighbourhood of Jobar in the eastern section of the capital, and when the displacement was carried out in late March 2018 – beginning of April 2018; Rahman Corps transferred the relics and manuscripts it was trusted to keep to its destination north of Syria, but after reaching the Syrian north the Council asked the leadership of the Corps to return the things it was “trusted” to keep; the Corps denied having them, which created considerable tension between both parties, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also monitored both parties carrying out meetings in order to reach a solution for this matter, while Rahman Corps insisted on denying having the relics and manuscripts with it, which pushed the Council and some of the fighters from Jobar neighbourhood –who fight under the command of the Corps– to accuse Rahman Corps represented by its leader Abdunnasir Shamir of “stealing the manuscripts and relics that were present in the synagogue”, which escalated the tension between both parties even more, also reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the relics are very precious.
