Factions of “Daraa reconciliation” and the regime forces share the fight against Jaysh Khalid Ibn al-Walid in Yarmouk Basin after the end of the opposition’s influence completely in Daraa
Daraa Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the continuation of violent clashes between the regime forces supported by gunmen loyal to them and former opposition factions, including Shabab al-Sunna, against members of Jaysh Khalid Ibn al-Walid which swore allegiance to the “Islamic State” organization, in areas in the western countryside of Daraa, where the Syrian Observatory monitored hit-and-run clashes in the area of Saham al-Golan Dam, to which Jaysh Khalid Ibn al-Walid tried to re-advance and control, but the regime forces managed to hold their control in the area, and the clashes are accompanied by intense targeting in the clash areas between both parties, after the regime forces were able on Saturday the 28th of July 2018 to advance and control Jomla and decrease the size of areas controlled by the Organization, also the clashes continue violently between both parties with aerial bombardment and shelling by the regime forces suing artillery and rocket shells on areas controlled by Jaysh Khalid Ibn al-Walid.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also learned that former rebel and Islamic factions who used to fight the regime forces and then joined the “reconciliation and settlement”, including Shabab al-Sunna, are participating alongside the regime forces in this attack against Jaysh Khalid Ibn al-Walid which swore allegiance to the “Islamic State” Organization, where the latter was continuously fighting the opposition factions before the start of regime’s operations against it in Yarmouk Basin, following regime’s full control over the factions’ controlled areas in Daraa Province, and the Syrian Observatory published today that it rose to at least 233, the number of casualties of the members of Jaysh Khalid Ibn al-Walid which swore allegiance to the “Islamic State” Organization, who have been killed since the 19th of July 2018, the date of starting the regime’s operation against Jaysh Khaled Ibn Al-Waleed, also it rose to 68 at least, the number of casualties of the members and officers of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, who were killed in the same period, and the Syrian Observatory published hours ago, that it rose to 42 persons at least including 11 children and 5 citizen women, the number of people who have been killed since the 19th of July 2018, as a result of bombardment by warplanes and helicopters as well as the shelling by the regime forces on Yarmouk Basin in the western countryside of Daraa.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published hours ago that the aerial and missile bombardment continue on the remaining circle of Jaysh Khalid Ibn al-Walid, which swore allegiance to the “Islamic State” organization in Yarmouk Basin west of Daraa, where warplane and helicopters continue the intensive targeting of the area, in conjunction with violent rocket shelling targeting towns and villages that are still controlled by Jaysh Khalid Ibn al-Walid which swore allegiance to the “Islamic State” Organization, amid clashes between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against Jaysh Khalid Ibn al-Walid, and the Syrian Observatory published yesterday night that the regime forces’ military operations is continuing within the remaining narrow circle of Jaysh Khaled Ibn Al-Waleed which pledges allegiance to the “Islamic State” organization, in the area of Yarmouk Basin in the western countryside of Daraa, where the clashes are continuing between the both parties in places in the area, in ongoing attacks by the regime forces in order to end the presence of Jaysh Khaled in the area, after rapid advancements since yesterday, Wednesday, which enabled the regime forces to take the control of more than 26 towns and villages, while only 7 towns and villages are remaining for Jaysh Khaled, thus, the regime forces became in control of an area of about 98% of the total area of Daraa, while Jaysh Khaled controls about 2%, also, the warplanes and helicopters are continuing their targeting to the areas remaining under the control of the army which pledges allegiance to the “Islamic State” organization, and the SOHR published hours ago, that Jaysh Khaled Ibn Al-Waleed is continuing its rapid collapses in the area of Yarmouk Basin in the western sector of Daraa countryside, amid new advancements achieved by the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them backed by warplanes and helicopters, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the regime forces managed to achieve further important and rapid advancements in the second consecutive day in the area of Yarmouk Basin, and 7 days after launching their military operations on the 19th of July 2018, where the regime forces took the control of Saham Al-Golan, Tasil, Al-Shabraq and other positions used to be controlled by Jaysh Khaled, amid successive withdrawals by the army which pledges allegiance to the “Islamic State” organization, and confining it in a narrower circle, represented by several towns which are al-Shajra, Abbdyn, Koayiah, Ma’aria, and Al-Qsir, where the regime forces became close to end the presence of Jaysh Khaled Ibn Al-Waleed which was announced about in 2014.|
