Military reinforcements arrives in the eastern countryside of Al-Suwaidaa in conjunction with escalating the number of people who were detained in Al-Lajat in Daraa countryside to more than 240 persons

The regime forces are continuing to sweep Al-Lajat area, in the north-eastern countryside of Daraa, along with the sound of gunfire in the eastern countryside of the province, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the regime forces are continuing to carry out their raids in the villages of Al-Lajat area and the areas near Khalkhala Military Airbase, arresting more citizens, raising to more than 240, the number of people who have been arrested since yesterday, Thursday the 2nd of August 2018, and these search and raids came after Khalkhala Airbase which is located at the administrative border of the north-western countryside of Al-Suwaidaa with al-Lajat area in Daraa countryside, was subjected to an attack by the “Islamic State” Organization, which resulted in killing 7 members at least of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, as well as the destruction of equipment inside the airbase as a result of targeting it by several rocket shells.

And these arrests were accompanied in the past few hours by airstrikes which targeted the vicinity of the area, in conjunction with targeting to areas in Al-Suwaidaa desert, where ISIS areas of presence are located, along with the arrival of military reinforcements of tens of vehicles carrying soldiers, materials and ammunition, in the villages of the first contact line with the controlled areas of the “Islamic State” organization in the eastern countryside of Al-Suwaidaa, while the Syrian Observatory published yesterday, Thursday, that the northwestern countryside of al-Suwaidaa is witnessing a cautious calm since about 36 hours, following the second sudden attack by the “Islamic State” organization in the countryside of province since the 25th of July 2018, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored an alert situation among the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them and the local gunmen; in the vicinity of al-Khalkhala Airbase, and other areas in the countryside of al-Suwaidaa and along the village line adjacent to areas of presence of the “Islamic State” Organization east and northeast of al-Suwaidaa province, in the wake of a sudden attack on al-Khalkhala Airbase by a group of the organization after midnight of yesterday, which targeted at the inside of the Airbase by several rocket shells which caused explosions that caused destruction and damage to military equipment inside the al-Khalkhala Airbase, and with this second attack inside al-Suwaidaa Province, it rose to 265, the number of people who were killed as a result of the attacks by the “Islamic State” organization on Al-Suwaidaa city and its eastern and north-eastern countryside since the 25th of July 2018 until today the 2nd of August 2018, they are 142 civilians including 38 women and children, and 116 gunmen most of them are of the people of the countryside of Al-Suwaidaa province, who took up arms to rebel the violent and surprising attack of the organization, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also monitored that the number of casualties in the ranks of the “Islamic State” organization who were killed in this violent attack on Al-Suwaidaa countryside and Al-Suwaidaa city, and 7 members of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them were killed in the attack on Khalkhala Airbase.
