The Syrian Observatory For Human Rights

After cutting his head and setting his body on fire, continued escalated discontent over the execution of an ISIS prisoner in al-Suwaidaa

Al-Suwaidaa Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored widespread resentment against the execution of a captive of the “Islamic State” organization last Monday, the resentment escalated dramatically following the spread of a new video of which the Syrian Observatory received a copy of, where the captive was executed and his head was separated from his body and placed on his back, in addition to setting fir in parts of his bodies, while a crowd of dozens of people including children was watching in the central street in al-Suwaidaa city, near to the Arc Of Victory in which the captive was hung, it worth mentioning that the flag of the “Syrian Nationalist Party” was hung over the body of the hanged prisoner at the Arch Of Victory, and at the same time the “Nusour al-Zawb’aa” which is one of the formations of the Syrian Nationalist party loyal to the regime forces; denied in a statement -of which the Syrian Observatory received a copy of- its relationship with the execution, where the statement says:
“after the spread of several photographs and videos on the social media platforms about the execution of a person in al-Suwaidaa city and raising the flag of the Syrian National Social Party next to him, we explain the following:

First: fighters of “Nusour al-Zawb’aa” who are fighting with the Syrian Arab Army and the State institutions believe in the logic of accountability under the roof of the relevant and competent institutions of the judicial or security authorities, which alone are responsible for accounting or judging the perpetrators or terrorists who are arrested.

Secondly: this retaliatory method has nothing to do with the fighters of Nusour al-Zawb’aa of the Syrian National Social Party, who have worked to uphold the moral principle in their fight against all kinds of armed and terrorist groups, which have attempted to dismantle the country’s regime and its social fabric.

Based on what was mentioned, we completely deny the relation of Nusour al-Zawb’aa with the execution that took place in the square of al-Suwaidaa city”

The Syrian Observatory published on Monday, the 7th of August 2018 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the loyalists and gunmen villagers of al-Suwaidaa executing a prisoner of the “Islamic State” organization, hours after capturing him during the clashes in the al-Suwaidaa Desert, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring hundreds of the citizens and members of the gunmen loyal to the regime hanging one of the prisoner over the one of the arches in al-Suwaidaa, and it is not known whether the captive was hanged when he was hung, or if he was executed by gunfire after capturing him alive and after that his body was hung, amid fears for the lives of abductees of the countryside of al-Suwaidaa who are detained by ISIS.

This is the second incident of its kind in al-Suwaidaa, after the execution that took place on the 25th of July 2018, against ISIS member who was captured during the deadliest and most violent attack on al-Suwaidaa Province, where his body was also hung in a similar position along with gathering of hundreds of citizens, and the second execution, today, comes while the violent clashes are taking place between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against members of the “Islamic State” organization, in areas east and northeast of al-Suwaidaa desert, in a continuous attempt to control more areas as part of the military operation announced by the regime forces, which began on the evening of the 5th of August, and the clashes are accompanied by continued air and missile strikes.

The Syrian Observatory published this morning that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented more casualties against the backdrop of the suicide attack and the continuous military operations in al-Suwaidaa Desert, where it rose to 4, the number of members of the Syrian Nationalist Party loyal to the regime forces who were killed in the suicide attack that was carried out by members of the “Islamic State” organization in a point of them in the eastern desert of al-Suwaidaa to the east of Douma village, and in the same context, it rose to more than 16, the number of killed ISIS members -including a suicide bomber- since the beginning the military operations of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them and the gunmen villagers in the eastern and northeastern desert of al-Suwaidaa, which began on Sunday night the 5th of August 2018, and since the launch of the operations more than 6 vehicles of  the “Islamic State” organization have been destroyed.

And the Syrian Observatory published yesterday morning that the organization executed a 19-year-old boy from al-Shabaki village, who was among more than 30 children, teenagers, and women abducted by ISIS during its attacks on the area, where the execution took place on Thursday the 2nd of August 2018, and the Syrian Observatory learned that this execution is the first execution against al-Suwaidaa abductees, and came after the fail of negotiations between the “Islamic State” organization and the regime forces on transferring ISIS fighters to the Syrian desert from southwest of Daraa, in addition to the execution of more than 50 citizens and fighters of Jaysh Khalid Ibn al-Walid which swore allegiance to the organization in the southwestern countryside of Daraa, and the Syrian Observatory fears that the “Islamic State” organization may execute the abducted women of al-Suwaidaa Province; as a result of stripping the women by the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them in the southwestern countryside of Daraa and stealing their gold.
