The regime forces continue the rocket shelling on Tlul al-Safa in Rif Dimashq Desert, in conjunction with the continuation of clashes in the area as fears continue and increase over the lives of abductees

Rif Dimashq Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored rocket shelling carried out by the regime forces after midnight of yesterday on sites of the “Islamic State” organization in Tlul al-Safa, which is located in Rif Dimashq at the administrative borders with al-Suwaidaa, amid renewed clashes between both parties in continuous attempts by the regime forces to forece ISIS to surrender, and information about the more casualties and injuries in the ranks of both parties, coincided with the continuation of clashes between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against fighters of the “Islamic State” organization, in areas in the vicinity and outskirts of Tlul al-Safa area on the administrative border between Rif Dimashq and al-Suwaidaa provinces, and the clashes were accompanied by shelling by the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, on areas controlled by the organization, in conjunction with attempts to achieve an advancement in the area.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored in the past 24 hours the regime forces achieving an advancement on the outskirts of the area, and controlling sites and points that were under the control of ISIS, also the regime forces seek to achieve more advancement and end the organization’s presence in the area, amid aerial and ground shelling targeted areas controlled by the Organization, in conjunction with exchange of targeting between both parties which caused more casualties, where it rose to 117, the number of ISIS members who have been killed in the bombings, shelling and clashes since the 25th of July 2018, while it rose to at least 39, the number of members of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them who were killed in the same period, also the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented since the attack of ISIS in Al-Suwaidaa countryside on the 25th of July 2018, the death of about 142 citizens including 38 women and children, in addition to the killing of 116 people, the majority of whom were of the gunmen villagers who carried the gun to repel the organization’s attack, and a 19-year-old boy was executed by ISIS after being kidnapped along with about 30 others, and a woman died when she was held by ISIS in conditions that still vague so far.

While the case of abductees of al-Suwaidaa province (who have been detained by ISIS since the 25th of July 2018; after it carried out its biggest, deadliest and most violent attack in al-Suwaidaa province since the start of the Syrian revolution) is still the most important thing in the province as fears for the fate of the kidnapped people and the great public discontent continue over the stall of the Syrian regime in the case of abductees, and in conjunction with the continuous resentment; the elders of al-Aql Sheikhs of the Unitarian Druze community have made a statement about assigning several people to a negotiating committee, and the Syrian Observatory obtained a copy of the statement, it says:

“due to the present circumstances and requirements of the public interest, a negotiating committee is formed in regard of the abductees of al-Suwaidaa province of the gentlemen: Dr. Samer Abu Ammar, Dr. Saeed al-Ak, Mr. Osama Abu Bakkar, Mr. Adel al-Hadi. And the work of the committee is limited to following up on the case of the abducted people of the province and reaching out to the concerned authorities to achieve their release and return to their families unharmed.”
