A new massacre through targeting a mosque in ISIS last enclave claims the lives of 16 persons and leaves other wounded a few days after 2 massacres in Al-Susah town

Deir Ezzor Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a sand storm in areas in the east of the Euphrates River and in the whole Syrian Desert, accompanied by mobilizations in the ranks of the Syria Democratic Forces on the eastern banks of the Euphrates River, and by the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities on the western banks of the river, for fear of exploiting the sand storm by the “Islamic State” organization and carrying out attacks aim to inflict the largest possible number of casualties in the ranks of the former 2 parties, as it happened in the attacks which took place on the 10th of October 2018, which resulted in the fall of large numbers of human losses in the ranks of the both parties reached 189 casualties in the ranks of the organization, and 96 casualties in the ranks of the SDF, where alertness and attempts to strengthen the positions, military posts and the contact lines with the organization are underway, in order to prevent it from carrying out surprising attacks by members in the last enclave it controls in the east of the Euphrates or by sleeper cells operating in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, and the Syrian observatory for Human Rights learned that violent clashes took place between groups of members of the organization against the Syria Democratic Forces, after the organization blocked the road to the contact lines, while reliable sources confirmed that more than 500 fighters of the SDF have reached to support the fronts against the organization which waits for an opportunity during the storm in order to carry out a counter attack.

The Syrian Observatory also monitored that warplanes affiliated to the International Coalition and before the sand storm, have carried out strikes targeting the area of a mosque in the part controlled by the organization in Hajin town, which left confirmed human losses, where the SOHR documented the death of 16 persons they are: 7 citizens and 9 ISIS members, who were killed in these strikes, which targeted the 4th mosque in the recent week, as well as the injury of other persons with varying severity and the missing of others, while earlier strikes targeted mosques and an institution for Quran memorization drill, and the strikes on the 18th and 19th of October 2018, resulted in the death of at least 63 citizens and members of the “Islamic State” organization, where the Syrian Observatory monitored the death of 18 Iraqi citizens of the families of the organization including 7 children and 4 women, who were killed in the bombardment which targeted a mosque and a house in Al-Susah town, on the 18th of October 2018, in addition to the death of 11 members of the organization who were killed in the same strikes, while 23 citizens (6 citizens of them are Syrians and the rest are Iraqis) including 3 children, were killed on the 19th of October 2018, as a result of strikes that targeted an institution for Quran memorization drill and houses in its vicinity in Al-Susah town, while 11 members of the organization were killed in the same strikes, and the death toll is expected to increase due to the presence of injured cases in serious conditions.

And the Syrian Observatory published today morning, Wednesday, that it monitored that the night attacks by members of the “Islamic State” Organization through tunnels and on positions its opponents, in addition to the explosion of mines planted by the Organization heavily in the area, have obstructed the rapid progress of the Syria Democratic Forces, also, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented in the past 2 weeks the fall of large numbers of human losses in the military operations, where the SOHR has documented since the 10th of October 2018, the date of the organization’s attack exploiting the sand storm which hit the east of the Euphrates, the death of at least 189 members and leaders of the “Islamic State” Organization of Syrian, Iraqi, and various other nationalities, who were killed in the clashes and strikes of the International Coalition and Syria Democratic Forces, also the Syrian Observatory documented the death of at least 96 fighters of the Syria Democratic Forces including field commanders in the same clashes.
