The Syrian Observatory For Human Rights

The regime forces call for compulsory service casualties killed by their shells, warplanes, raids, and snipers within lists of about 5000 names

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored persistent and increased discontent among people of Daraa Province, who refused to displace and carried out “reconciliation and settlement”, the main reason for it is the continued call by the security branches for the people of the province, whether for “compulsory or reserve service,” and the Syrian Observatory learned that the lists of names of people wanted for service in regime’s army exceeded 5000 names all over Daraa Province, of who failed to serve during the Syrian revolution or those who are in the age for the reserve service starting from 1986 and above, also casualties of the Syrian revolution who were killed by the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them were called to the “compulsory and reserve service,” where sources of the Syrian Observatory reported that among the names on wanted people there are people who had died in the Syrian revolution, while the Syrian Observatory published on Thursday that Daraa Province is witnessing an increase in the security chaos across the city and its countryside, since the regime forces and their allies were able to regain full control of the province in late June 2018, the security chaos is represented by kidnapping, arrests, robberies, imposing royalties, extortion, etc., where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored in the recent days a rise in terms of abductions carried out by unidentified people as well as gunmen loyal to the regime forces, in exchange of ransom or for reasons of revenge, disagreements, and personal vendetta, all over Daraa countryside from its east to its west, there is no safe for those left in Daraa Province and refused to displace to the Syrian north, where the Syrian Observatory monitored during the last 48 hours the abduction of a young man at the International Highway east of Daraa, the locals accused gunmen of the 4th Division within the regime forces of kidnapping him, and they took the young man to a destination that still unknown.

While the regime forces are supposed to impose security in Daraa Province, having returned it to the “Motherland”, the security chaos is escalating in the province, where the regime forces is busy with the raids and arrests for “compulsory and reserve service” in its army, despite the false allegations of the Syrian regime to stop the “reserve” and the “pardon” issued by the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, but these campaigns continue largely, through lists of names of people wanted for the reserve service of who were born in 1986 and above, where the Syrian Observatory monitored many arrests in this regard since the alleged “amnesty”, where on Thursday morning; the 22nd of November 2018, lists with names of people wanted to the reserve service in Sahm Golan town at the western countryside of Daraa have arrived, and the regime forces began calling the wanted and arresting those who reject it. Reliable sources told the Syrian Observatory that the people wanted for to serve the compulsory and reserve service in Daraa Province fear of the enrolment, against the backdrop of their detention by the Syrian regime’s security branches and torturing them with severe beatings and various methods of torture before sending them to service in regime’s army.

And as the regime forces and their security services are busy arresting and recruiting those wanted for service within regime’s army; areas in Daraa countryside a has been witnessing since days cases of writing on the walls of schools, neighborhoods, and streets, the writings are phrases against the Syrian regime and in support of the Syrian revolution, some are in favor of the “Islamic State” Organization, where in al-Msifra town at the eastern countryside of Daraa; unknown people wrote on walls in the town the phrases: “the State remains and extends and the State is returning,” and by State they mean ISIS, but the regime forces painted the phrases, and in the towns of al-Muzayrib and al-Kerk al-Sharqi; unknown people wrote “Long Live the Free Revolution” and “overthrow the Baathist party” and “down with Bashar” on walls of schools within both towns, in a phenomenon that has become repeated since days.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on Wednesday that Syrian regime continues through its forces and security branches, the Russians through its 5th Corps, the Iran and its forces through their military and security institutions, all of them continue to race in the Syrian south, to include the sons of Daraa Province of former fighters of the factions and civilians to their ranks, by forcing them sometimes and tempting them other times by material and moral inducements, as well as other arguments and pretexts, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the entry of the al-Bustan Association of Rami Makhloufi -the cousin of the Syrian regime President Bashar al-Assad- on the line of the race recently, where it tries through its representatives, to recruit youths and men with attractive financial salaries of up to US $350 per month, this association is spread in Daraa city and the towns of Qarfa, Izra’a, and Sheikh Meskin, as well as the villages of al-Lajat area east of Daraa, also “al-Bustan Charitable Association” was able through its name and its essence of Tashbih (from Shabiha; the abuse of power) to attract about 1000 persons during this short period, of those who joined it and were recruited, as the same association had done earlier with the sons of the Syrian coast by recruiting them, and putting them on the fronts against the “Islamic State” Organization in Homs Desert.

Within the overall countryside of Daraa and in particular its east; the Iranian forces and Hezbollah continue to attract more people in a continuation of the “Shi’ism” and recruitment campaigns, through offices and centers of the Iranians, the Lebanese Hezbollah, and Mazars (shrines) belongs to the Shiite sect in Daraa Province in particular, raising to about 2000, the number of people that the offices and centers of Hezbollah and Iranians have been able to recruit with monthly salaries of up to US $300 a person.

Unlike the eastern countryside of Daraa, the Russians and the Syrian regime dominate race at the western countryside of Daraa, where the established-by-Russia 5th Corps continues to recruit young men and boys both of civilians and former fighter of factions who have carried out “reconciliation and settlements,” to engage in their ranks and to be thrown side to side with the regime forces in the battlefronts, where the 5th Corps pays monthly and periodical salaries to those who join its ranks after they fill out a form with complete personal information, military service, whether they own a weapon or not and so on. At the same time, regime’s branches are spreading all over the western countryside of Daraa to take any civilian at their checkpoints, of who are at the age of “compulsory service or reserve service” in regime’s army, to detain them as soon as they pass through their checkpoints, in addition to arrests in search of wanted for conscription and reserve service, while kth 4th Division of Maher al-Assad -the brother of the head of the Syrian regime- recruits the sons of the western countryside in general, of who were former fighters of the factions or civilians and put them on the fronts, like Tlul al-Safa in Damascus, where tens of them were killed and injured in confrontations with the “Islamic State” Organization there.

Now Daraa Province from which the Syrian demonstrations and revolution were launched in March 2011, has become a racing arena in which the Russians and Iranians compete alongside the Syrian regime and its intelligence there, each on its own.
