Tribal gunmen and protesters east of Deir Ezzor seize oil wells to protest the poor service situation and the transfer of oil to the outside of the province
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights obtained information from intersected sources who confirmed that groups of members of the Syria Democratic Forces from Khasham town and residents of the town and from Jdaydet Ekydat area; seized oil wells belong to Koniko Field after clashes against these guards of these wells, the robbery came because of protest against the “theft of oil” and the poor services situation of Jdaydet Ekydat village and in the camps of the displaced people of Khasham in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, near al-Aziyeh station, which was also taken by the gunmen, the residents and those who took over the wells demanded improving the situations, and the Syrian Observatory learned that they withdrew from the wells after negotiations between them and between the Syria Democratic Forces in al-Omar oilfield, and the clashes wounded 2 members of the Syria Democratic Forces, while local sources confirmed that these protests by residents of Deir Ezzor countryside and displaced people came because of the transfer of oil to al-Shaddadi and al-Hasakah countryside.
The Syrian Observatory monitored the death of more members of the Syria Democratic Forces by shooting and targeting by unidentified gunmen in Thiban area in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 9th of December 2018 that the security chaos is continuing to expand in the east of the Euphrates River, through more assassinations that are being carried out by active cells in the area, some of them belong to the “Islamic State” organization, and some others work on carrying out killing operations and spreading disorder in the area, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that unidentified gunmen targeted a vehicle of the Syria democratic Forces, which killed and injured 5 persons at least, and the SOHR monitored on Thursday, that it monitored the explosion of an IED near al-Basira bridge in the eastern sector of Deir Ezzor countryside on the east bank of Euphrates River, which led to the closure of the road by the security forces and the blocking the traffic on the road temporarily, and no information about casualties caused by the explosion, and the Syrian Observatory published yesterday night that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that unidentified gunmen targeted a vehicle carrying one of the member of Deir Ezzor Civil Council, operating within the controlled areas of the Syria Democratic Forces east of the Euphrates, where the Syrian Observatory learned that the targeting resulted in the injury of several members who were in the vehicle, in the area of Swidan Jazira in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, amid information about the death of one of them affected by the injury he had, in the wake of the continued security chaos within these areas and the attempts to escalate them by active cells in the area most of which are connected to the “Islamic State” organization, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published today morning, Thursday, that it monitored that unidentified gunmen attacked a house in al-Sa’wa village in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, where reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the gunmen were wearing the dress of the Syria Democratic Forces, and that they stormed a house of a man works in jewelry and stole about 4.5 million SYP, in addition to identification papers, and the Syrian Observatory published last Monday, that gunmen robbed money exchange shop in Jazrat al-Bohmid and stole $20000 USD and a laptop, also the Syrian Observatory published last week that 2 offices in al-Jazrah area and al-Sa’wa area were robbed by gunmen wearing the dress of the Syria Democratic Forces.
