In the light of regime’s control of it after military operation and “reconciliations;” anti-regime movements and demonstrations in Daraa countryside in the Syrian south

Daraa Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: anti-regime demonstrations and movements continue in the Syrian south, after protests in Daraa city against the regime and its return of the statue of former president of the Syrian regime, Hafez al-Assad, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored today, Monday, the 11th of March 2019, a demonstration in Tafas town in the northwestern countryside of Daraa, calling for the overthrow of the regime and the release of detainees from regime’s jails and detention centers, amid fears that the regime would carry out new arrests in the area, and the Syrian Observatory published yesterday that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored tens of people of Daraa al-Balad in Daraa city at noon of Sunday; carrying out protests against installing the statue of former president “Hafez al-Assad” in the Daraa al-Balad, where the demonstrators chanted “long live Syria, down with Bashar al-Assad, Syria is ours not for Assad family,” and this demonstration comes days after writings on the walls of Nawa city in the western countryside of Daraa within the same context, where the phrase “no to the establishment of a statue of the buried even if they returned from the graves,” this was written on walls of a school in the city, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored yesterday morning that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored on Saturday morning, the 9th of March 2019; leaflets in Om Walad town in the eastern countryside of Daraa, near the administrative border of al-Suwaidaa province, and on them there were threats to the members of al-Baath party in the town who are close to the security branches, they say “to the dwarves of al-Baath in the town of OM Walad, we have sent you a warning message with a small and limited targeting of your headquarters, and it seems that you have not understood the lesson well, and you have continued to trespass and exceed your boundaries, and you have worked to increase the rift and instability in the town and spread the strife in it, and you have left none of the evil of your malicious reports, and inciting the security branches against the people of the town, and from it we warn you that we will not let your actions if they continue without paying, and we will not accept to live at the farm of your masters which you started to establish again, and to our families and sons in the town: the Baath Party is a criminal party and joining it is a crime and betrayal of the blood of martyrs,” and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 8th of March 2019 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that unknown gunmen targeted the car of “al-Sanamin city council president” with a grenade in the city which wounded his daughter, then the perpetrators fled, and this comers in the context of the repeated and continued targeting operations of personalities and factions of the “reconciliation and settlement” in addition to the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, while the Syrian Observatory monitored that the security services of the regime forces arrested 4 people of Busra al-Sham holding the IDs of the “5th Legion,” on one of the checkpoints in the capital Damascus days ago, but no information about the reasons for the arrest yet, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published hours ago that the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them in Daraa city and its countryside, continue to raid and search homes looking for people accused of various counts in their records, where the reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that patrols of the regime forces have raided a house in al-Sanamayn town in the northern countryside of Daraa, on charges of trafficking and smuggling antiquities, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 6th of March 2019 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the regime forces and through their intelligence services, carried out more arrests within Daraa province, where the regime’s intelligence has arrested 2 young men from Da’el town in the middle sector of Daraa countryside, as well as another man in Alma town in Daraa countryside, where they were all taken to unknown destination, without information about the reasons for arresting them so far, and in Al-Quneitra, the SOHR learned that the regime forces have arrested one of the commanders of the “reconiliations and settlements” factions in Ein al-Tineh village in Al-Quneitra countryside, without knowing the reasons for arresting him, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 2nd of March 2019, that it monitored new arrests in the Syrian South by the regime forces against former commanders of the factions operating in the area, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights; the regime forces arrested 3 former members in the Military Council in Al-Quneitra countryside –a Brigadier General, a Colonel and a Lieutenant Colonel- after they were summoned for being questioned by the regime’s security services, and the SOHR published on the 26th of February 2019, that Security operations continue in Daraa Province by the security and intelligence branches of the regime, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the Air Intelligence Branch raiding Sheikh Meskin town in the northern countryside of Daraa, and they arrested 5 young men from the town but no information about the reasons for this arbitrary arrest, the regime’s intelligence also arrested a man and his son who used to be in the ranks of the “factions” and carried out a reconciliation and settlements when the regime forces took control of Daraa, where they were arrested after raiding their house in Dael town in the middle sector of Daraa countryside, and this comes in conjunction with inspections and checking in the eastern suburbs of the capital Damascus and in the Ghouta for the civilians in it, and they arrested residents and transported them to sites of the regime forces, and the Syrian Observatory published yesterday that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned from intersected sources that the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them raided during the past 24 hours several houses in Dael town in the middle countryside of Daraa, looking for wanted people, where they arrested 5 former fighters of the rebel factions with who have a settlement card, then they took them to an unknown destination, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 24th of February 2019 that regime’s intelligence and security services continue to send lists of names to Daraa Province, to bring its youths and men to serve in the “Homeland Army”, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Right monitored new lists were sent to the western sector of Daraa countryside, which include tens of names from the western countryside of Daraa, in order for them to be enrolled in the “compulsory and reserve service” in regime’s army, at a time when the regime forces seek to bring Daraa youths and men to their ranks; residents of the province are living a deteriorating and continuous humanitarian situation in various aspects of life, where the fuel and gas prices continue to rise and they are hard to obtain, as they are considered a vital necessity to cover the people’s needs to secure the bread and heating material in the winter and low temperatures, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 5th of February 2019 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored during the past 48 hours, an increase in name lists sent by regime’s security services to Daraa Province, which includes hundreds of names of young men and men of Daraa Province, in order to be recruited in the “compulsory and reserve services” in regime’s army, where the new lists included about 2000 names distributed as follows: 700 wanted from Sahem al-Golan, 600 are wanted from Tasil, 300 from Hayt, 200 from al-Shajra, over 90 from Naf’aa, and more than 60 from Jomla, and in the same context; about 300 persons of who defected of the regime forces and joined the factions before and then they carried out a “reconciliation and settlement” were assembled in Ghabagheb town north of Daraa, to join the ranks of the military, as part of their return to regime’s army, and the Syrian Observatory published yesterday, Monday, that Daraa Province is witnessing a state of security alert by regime’s intelligence and security services, due to the security situation and the escalating chaos in areas of Daraa province, since the regime forces and their loyal militias controlled it, where sites and checkpoints of the regime forces ae being targeted, in addition to the assassinations of members of the regime forces and other fighters and commanders who carried out “reconciliation and settlements”, as well as the phrases that filled the walls of province, denouncing the control of the regime forces and promising continuous operations, and the Syrian Observatory monitored since the control of the regime forces and their loyal militias for Daraa Province; tens of operations and targeting, most notably the process that took place late January 2019, where unknown gunmen attacked by rocket shells and medium machineguns one of the largest checkpoints of the regime forces in the eastern countryside of Daraa, which is Nahta, followed by an attack yesterday, Sunday, the 3rd of February 2019, by unidentified people against regime’s Air Intelligence detachment in Dael area, in the middle countryside of Daraa, while these escalating incidents prompted the regime forces to dramatically raise their alert status; in search of the cells that carry out such attacks, where the regime forces intensify their patrols and inspection on their checkpoints, an attempt to stop the security chaos that is storming the area, while the so-called popular resistance has emerged as an adopter of most of the targeting and assassination operations in Daraa, and the organization published a statement this morning in which they called the young men to join it.

 

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 3rd of February 2019 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a new targeting against the regime forces in Daraa province, over which the regime forces imposed their control months ago after a military operation and a series of “reconciliations and settlements”, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights; unidentified gunmen have attacked the detachment of the regime’s Air Force Intelligence in Da’el in the middle countryside of Daraa area which caused material damage, without information about human losses, while the Syrian Observatory monitored several explosion in the eastern countryside of Daraa city on the 31st of January 2019, it turned out that they were caused by an attack by unidentified gunmen on positions of the regime forces and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, unidentified gunmen attacked today evening, Thursday, by shells and medium machineguns, one of the regime’s largest checkpoints in the eastern countryside of Daraa, Nahteh checkpoint, which led to the withdrawal of the checkpoint’s members to rear positions, while there is no information so far about the amount of the human losses, also sources informed the Syrian Observatory that the same checkpoint witnessed yesterday, Wednesday, an insult and altercations against a woman by the members of the checkpoint, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday, Wednesday, that tensions still prevails in Daraa city in the Syrian south, which is under the control of the regime forces and militias loyal to them, where the tension comes against the backdrop of the shootings that took place during the past hours in Daraa al-Balad in Daraa city, by a group of former fighters of the factions who carried out “reconciliation and settlements”, they are defected members of the regime forces who refused to rejoin the “mandatory or reserve services” within regime’s army, where their shooting came in protest against the practices of the regime forces despite settlements and reconciliation, refusing to return to the barracks and military positions within regime’s army. And in another context, the Syrian Observatory monitored the regime forces arresting 3 people in Alma village in the eastern countryside of Daraa on Tuesday evening, where they were taken to an unknown destination and no information about the reason for the arrest yet, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 26th of January 2018 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights have received information reporting that the regime forces collected today, Saturday the 26th of January 2019, tens of those who defected from them in Da’el town in the middle sector of Daraa countryside, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory; about 200 recruits and officers of the people of the eastern countryside of Daraa who had defected previously from the regime forces and then carried out “reconciliations and settlements”, have been collected in Da’el town by the regime forces, in order to be send to the military police in Qaboun area in the capital Damascus, then to their military units all over Syria.
