ISIS carries out a new ambush in members of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them in Deir Ezzor, captures and kills about 10 of them

Reliable sources told the Syrian Observatory that a joint patrol between the regime forces and the NDF militia fell in an ambush carried out by the “Islamic State” Organization in al-Mayadin desert in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory: group of ISIS members carried out an ambush against the joint patrol, which consists of at least 8 members in the area between Ain Ali and Wadi al-Mayadin, where clashes took between both parties and between the patrol members who shot light bullets in the air as a distress call and to determine their location in the desert and ask for support, the sources added that when the military reinforcements and support of the regime forces came; traces of blood in the area were seen but no members of the patrol were found, where they were killed, wounded, and captured by the Organization, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 11th of August 2019 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the regime forces and militias of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and NDF militia; withdrew from several points and positions deep in Deir Ezzor desert, where these points were evacuated of fighters and vehicles as a result of the repeated and escalating attacks by members of the “Islamic State” Organization, which caused them heavy casualties, addition to the delay in the arrival of supplies because they are far away of the military barracks, while the Syrian Observatory published on the 8th of August 2019 that the “Islamic State” organization continues its intensive activity within the east Euphrates area, in areas controlled by the Syria Democratic Forces similar to its activity within the west Euphrates area, in which the regime forces and Iranian militias are present, where the last 15 days have witnessed the escalation of the organization’s activity very significantly in both banks of Euphrates, where its operations east Euphrates were so much more than the west Euphrates, but the casualties in the west were much higher than the east, where the Organization carried out more than 43 operations targeting the Syria Democratic Forces’ controlled areas east Euphrates, whether by detonating IED, mines, and vehicles In addition to targeting by bullets, these targets took place al-Raqqah, al-Hasakah, and Deir Ezzor.

The escalation of attacks by the “Islamic State” Organization east Euphrates comes despite the large-scale security operations carried out by the Syria Forces Democratic supported by the International Coalition in several areas east Euphrates, where more than 320 people of the civilians and ISIS cells were arrested during the past 2 weeks the Syrian Observatory documented the killing of 6 members of the Syria Democratic Forces in addition to a former leader in SDF, as a result of targeting by the “Islamic State” Organization, also 5 civilians including 3 children, were killed in the explosion of a booby-trapped car in al-Hasaka province, also the Syrian Observatory documented during the same period the killing of 5 of the ISIS cells in targeting by helicopters of the International Coalition for a site in which they were hiding in Hwyjet al-Busayrah in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, also another ISIS member was shot by Syria Democratic Forces in Swidan Jazeera town east Deir Ezzor.

And in the west Euphrates area the Organization carried out 10 attacks, where the Syrian Observatory published on the 6th of August 2019 that the “Islamic State” Organization has stepped up its activities in the Syrian desert over the past 15 days, by carrying out successively intensive attacks in Deir Ezzor desert, causing heavy casualties in the ranks of the regime forces and the Iranian-loyal militias, where the fortifications of the regime and the Iranian militias have not prevented the Organization from striking them time after time, sending them messages that it still has the power to confront the regime and its allies in the Syrian desert, how not while it controls about 4000 square kilometers starting from Jabal Abu Rajmin area northeast of Palmyra to Deir Ezzor desert in addition to its presence in al-Sokhna Desert and north of the administrative border of al-Suwaidaa province, without any move by Russia and the regime or the Iranians to launch military operations against the area, because the Russians and the regime are busy destroying, displacing, and killing civilians north of Syria, and Iran is preoccupied with consolidating and expanding its influence in Deir Ezzor and Syrian south, by recruiting more young men.

The Organization’s escalated attacks in the past few days have all been concentrated in the deserts of al-Mayadin and al-Bokamal within the eastern sector of Deir Ezzor countryside, in areas of the villages of al-Dwayr, Salhiya, Hasrat, and al-Abbas in the countryside of al-Bokamal city, and in the area between Boqruss Desert, al-Zabari, and areas in al-Mayadin Desert, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented that 47 members of the regime forces and pro-Iranian militias were killed in ambushes and attacks by members of the “Islamic State” Organization in Deir Ezzor desert, while 25 members of the Organization were killed in shelling and targeting in the same area, and the Syrian Observatory documented that more than 50 members of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them have been captured in al-Mayadin area.
