The Syrian Observatory For Human Rights

The regime and Russian warplanes continue their bombardment on the “de-escalation” zone forcing thousands of citizens to displace from the areas of Maarrat Al-Numan and its eastern countryside

Activists of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the displacement of nearly 7000 citizens in the past 48 hours from areas in the southern countryside of Idlib and Maarrat Al-Nu’man city and its eastern countryside, in the wake of ongoing airstrikes by warplanes of the Syrian regime and the Russian guarantor on the area, where the towns and villages of the eastern countryside of Maarrat Al-Nu’man became almost empty of citizens.

While it rose to 76, the number of raids carried out by the regime’s warplanes on the outskirts of Idlib city, Kansafrah, Al-Tah, Al-Taman’aa, Jarjnaz, Um Jalal, Maarshamshah and areas in the eastern countryside of Maarrat Al-Nu’man, also it rose to 43, the number of raids carried out by the Russian warplanes through which they targeted the outskirts of Idlib city, the area of Al-Khwayn, Al-Tah, Al-Taman’aa, the vicinity of Binnish, Maarshamshah, the east of Salqin and Kansafrah in Idlib countryside, and area of Kabana in Latakia countryside, while it rose to 38, the number of barrel bombs dropped by helicopters on Jarjnaz, Al-Tah, Al-Taman’aa, and the clash areas in the eastern farms of Maarrat Al-Nu’man, also it rose to 600, the number of shells and missiles launched by the regime forces on the south-eastern and eastern countryside of Idlib, Jabal Al-Akrad and the southern countryside of Aleppo.

And with the fall of more casualties, it rose to at least 4022, the number of people who were killed since the 30th of April 2019, the date of start of the most violent escalation in terms of aerial and ground bombardment, shelling, and targeting since Putin – Erdogan agreement, until the 29th of August 2019, and they are: 1039 civilians including 259 children and 185 citizen women, and they are 224 including 44 children and 43 women, and 8 of the civil defense and 5 of the ambulance team were killed in Russian aerial bombardment on the countryside of Idlib and Hama, and 88 including 19 women and 15 children were killed in the fall of barrel bombs, and 532 including 152 children, 89 women, and 5 members of the rescue teams were killed in targeting by regime’s warplanes, also 112 people including 20 women and 21 children were killed in a ground shelling carried out by the regime forces, and 80 citizens including 26 children and 14 women were killed in shelling by the factions on al-Suqaylabiyah, Qamhana, Al-Rasif, Al-Aziziyah, Karnaz, Jurin, Al-Nairab Camp, neighborhoods in Aleppo city and its southern countryside, while at least 1602 fighters were killed in the Russian airstrikes and the regime’s aerial and ground shelling including 1058 of the Jihadis, in addition to killing of 1376 members of the regime forces in targeting and shelling by jihadi groups and factions.

And during the period between the 15th of February 2019; the date of the meeting of “Rouhani – Erdogan – Putin” until the 28th of August 2019, and Syrian Observatory documented the death of 4550 people in the Russian – Turkish truce areas, they are 1324 civilians including 340 children under the age of eighteen and 249 women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the Russian aerial bombardment and the rocket shelling by the regime forces and the factions, and among the death toll of civilians there are 106 people including 31 children under the age of eighteen and 18 citizen women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 1693  fighters were killed in different conditions within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 1093 fighters of the “Jihadis” and 1533 of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.

While the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented since the start of the Russian – Turkish truce the death of 4780 people in areas of Erdogan – Putin agreement, they are: 1407 civilians including 369 children and 263 women, were killed in shelling by the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, targeting, and bombardment by warplanes, and among them there are 107 people including 31 children and 19 women, were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 1760 fighters were killed in deferent circumstances within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 1195 of the “Jihadi” fighters, and 1613 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.
