Despite the intense ground shelling, Turkish Forces fail to achieve any advancement east Euphrates and continue their shelling on Tal Abyad and Ras Al-Ayn

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the failure of the Turkish ground offensive on all areas they tried to advance within to, in the area extending from the east of Euphrates River to the west of Tigris River, where the “the Syria Democratic Forces and military councils” were able to repel the attacks of the Turkish Forces and the factions loyal to them on areas of Tal Abyad, Ras Al-Ayn, and al-Malkiyyeh, and villages in Ayn al-Arab countryside (Kobani), Darbasiyah, and other places in the area, and the attackers were unable to achieve any advancement, also the clashes stopped at around 3:00 am and the cautious calm has been prevailing the clash fronts until this moment, while the Turkish ground shelling continues sporadically on the western countryside of Ayn Al Arab, and the village of Bir Ashiq east of Tal Abyad and other sites of Tal Abyad area in addition to heavy shelling on Ras al-Ayn (Sari Kani), this cautious and relative calm was met with brining new military reinforcements by the Syria Democratic Forces to the border strip, in conjunction with the mobilization by the Turkish Forces and the Syrian factions loyal to them in Tal Abyad and the countryside of Ayn al-Arab, also the Turkish Forces removed the separation wall opposite to Tal half area west of Ras Al-Ayn city.

The Syrian Observatory published yesterday evening that Syria Democratic Forces managed to thwart the first round of the offensive by Turkish forces and factions loyal to them on Tal Abyad area and villages in its outskirts, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented more human losses due to the shelling and clashes, where at least 11 members of the SDF were killed in addition to the killing of 6 members of the attackers whose identity is not known so far whether being of the Turkish forces or of the factions loyal to them, while 5 fighters of the SDF were killed due to Turkish air and ground strikes on Ras Al-Ayn area during this day, Wednesday, while more than 33 members of the SDF were injured with varying severity due to the aerial and ground bombardment and clashes in the first day of the Operation “Peace Spring” announced by Turkey with Syrian factions loyal to it, while the exchange of shelling and targeting by medium and heavy weapons between the both parties, concentrated in places in the vicinity and outskirts of the areas of Al-Qahtaniyyeh, Amuda, Ayn Al-Arab, Tal Abyad, Ras Al-Ayn, Al-Derbasiyyeh, Al-Qamishli and Al-Malikiyah within the area stretched from east Euphrates River until west Tigris River, and in the same context, the SDF continue their targeting to positions inside the Turkish territory by mortars.
