Similar to what the Iranian militias did, the Russian police seize farms of strategic locations in al-Mayadin city

Deir Ezzor Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory monitored the Russian Military Police taking over four farms, near al-Bal’oum roundabout and the Modern Medicine Hospital in al-Mayadin city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, and according to the Observatory’s sources, the farms are owned by several people who immigrated outside the city, and the importance of the farms lies in their location at the entrance of al-Mayadin city from Deir Ezzor side, and by doing so, the Russian Forces now can monitor the movement of entry and exit between al-Mayadin and Deir Ezzor cities, it is worth mentioning that the Iranians had captured some farms and positioned in them in the same area.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights pointed out on the 6th of January 2020 that the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) are continuing to seize houses of civilian expatriates in Al-Mayadin city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

Recently, the group seized three villas in the area between the water station and the Modern Medicine Hospital, which commanders of the Iranian militias have been housed in.

All farms bordering the Euphrates River were also seized in the area between al-Baloum and Nazlet Al Mashro’a, where military patrols were recently conducted, the seizure occurred during the period from 15 to 30 December last year for fear of repeated targeting of Iranians there, SOHR sources added.
