Regime and Russian aircraft renew bombardment on rural Idlib along with regime forces advancement in rural Maarrat Al-Nu’man

SOHR sources reported that Russian jets carried out intensive airstrikes targeting areas in Saraqeb, Sarmin, Al-Nayrab, the vicinity of Binnish and Al-Mastumah.

Meanwhile, regime helicopters dropped several barrel bombs on Kafr Batikh, Tal Mardikh, Dadikh and Jubas in Saraqeb countryside.

Separately, fierce clashes are underway on frontlines of the eastern and south-eastern countryside of Idlib, between regime forces, and opposition rebels and jihadis. The regime forces achieved new advancement by capturing Armanya village near Maar Hattat in Maarrat Al-Nu’man countryside, along with their attempts to advance again in Luf and Mardikh areas in Saraqeb countryside.

Since Friday evening, January 24, the regime forces have imposed their control over 46 villages and towns: Telmans, Ma’ar Shmasha, Deir Sharqi, Deir Al-Gharbi, Ma’ar Shmarin, Ma’rata, Al-Ghadfa, Ma’ar Shourin Al-Za’alana, Al-Dana, Tal Sheikh, Sawami’e, Khirbet Mezyan, Masaran, Bsida, Taqana, Babolin, Kafr Bassin, Marhatat, Hamidia, Dar Al-Salaam, Salhia, Kafruma, Maarrat Al-Nu’man city, Wadi Al-Daif, Hantutin, Al-Jarrada, Al-Ruwayha and Al-Qahiryah, Khan al-Sobol town, Mardebseh, Al-Hartamiyah, Qamhana, Abu Juraif, Tal Khatrah, Tal Musaytif, Al-Kana’es, Karsyan, Hish, Kafr Mazdah, Jabbalah, Muqah, Al-Amudiyah and Armanya).

Observatory activists also documented gross human losses in the ranks of both warring forces who have been killed in bombardment and fierce clashes since Friday, the 24th of January 2020. 183 jihadis among 244 opposition fighters were killed so far, in addition to the killing of 239 regime soldiers and loyalists of whom there are six foreign militiamen loyal to Iran.
