New ceasefire 24 hours on: cautious calm prevails in the “de-escalation” zone with cessation of aerial operations

Syrian Observatory activists have reported that regime and Russian jets as well as Turkish drones have been suspending aerial operations on the “de-escalation” zone, since the new cessation came into effect 24 hours ago.

Cautious calm has been prevailing the area interrupted by artillery fire as regime forces targeted Tqad town in the western countryside of Aleppo and Al-Fterah village in the southern countryside of Idlib with several shells. They also fired one shell targeting the north-western countryside of Hama.

SOHR sources have reported that clashes with machineguns erupted between regime forces and opposition factions, in Fulayfel area in the southern countryside of Idlib. These clashes lasted for a few minutes.

Observatory activists have also reported hearing several explosions caused by intercepting drones by air defense system in Hmeimim.

Earlier this morning, SOHR activists documented human losses in attacks and clashes between regime forces and jihadist groups, on frontlines in Jabal al-Zawiya. Six regime soldiers and loyalists have been killed, in addition to the killing of at least nine members of “Turkistan Islamic Party”.
