Ceasefire violations: regime forces fire 25 shells on the “de-escalation” zone and advance into rural Idlib with no resistance

Tense calm is prevailing in “Putin – Erdogan” area amid ongoing suspension of regime and Russian aerial operations for 48 consecutive hours. This calm was interrupted by shelling by regime forces with 25 shells targeting the villages of village Al-Bara, Sfuhen and Al-Fterah in Idlib countryside.

SOHR sources documented new violations this evening represented by advances by regime forces and loyalists into areas in Idlib countryside, without fighting with the factions, where the Syrian regime held on positions in Maarrat Mukhas and Al-Burayj nearby Kafr Nubl. It is noteworthy that these areas were free of military presence, both of regime forces and opposition factions.

Otherwise, cautious and relative calm is prevailing throughout the “de-escalation” zone.

Hours ago, SOHR activists reported that regime forces shelled the villages of Kafr Oweid, Sfuhen and Al-Fterah in the southern countryside of Idlib.

The internal displaced persons (IDPs) are still staying out of their cities and towns after fleeing the recent military operations in Idlib, Aleppo and Hama. SOHR activists have documented nearly 1,200,000 people who have been displaced by the recent Russian and regime military operations.

Earlier this morning, SOHR sources reported seeing Russian jets flying over Idlib and Aleppo at noon.

“Two Russian jets flew over the western countryside of Aleppo and the north Idlib countryside without carrying out any strikes” the sources added.

Meanwhile, cautious calm has been prevailing throughout area of “Putin – Erdogan”.

Hours ago, SOHR sources monitored full suspension of Russian and regime aerial operations in the “de-escalation” zone, as the new ceasefire enters its second consecutive day. Meanwhile, cautious calm has been prevailing the “de-escalation” zone, stretching from the north-eastern mountains of Lattakia, to the north-western suburbs of Aleppo city passing through both Hama and Idlib, since midnight of Friday. This calm was interrupted by clashes between regime forces and jihadi groups, in Al-Mashari’ area in Sahl Al-Ghab, north-west of Hama.
