Dozens of cars wait to cross over as the crossings between SDF and Turkish-backed factions’ areas closed

Reliable sources have informed the Syrian Observatory that dozens of cars and trucks are stuck at the crossings between the areas of SDF and Turkish-backed factions. Over 200 cars are waiting to be allowed to cross to the opposite side.

This follows the announcement of a series of measures to fight the spread of Coronavirus pandemic. The “Self-Administration” closed the crossings with regime forces and crossings connected with Turkish-backed factions, Simlaka crossing and al-Walid crossing as well,  the Turkish-backed factions, in turn,  closed the crossings as well, making dozens of cars wait for further notice.

On the other hand, the areas of the “Self-Administration” are witnessing an increase in the prices of foodstuffs, medical alcohol and sanitizers. The procedures and decisions of “Self-Administration” on Coronavirus caused a decline in market purchasing in all areas by 57 per cent as some traders closed their shops for fear of the spread of the virus.
