Cyprus prevents 175 Syrian refugees from reaching its coasts

Reliable sources have informed SOHR that forces of the Greek Cyprus prevented a boat carrying 175 Syrian refugees (30 women, 69 children, 76 men) from reaching the state’s coasts yesterday. This action comes as a part of precautionary measures by Cyprus to face the spread of coronavirus. Cypriot police gave the refugees cloths, fuel and food, and asked them to go back.

The refugees were taken this morning to a sports arena called “Fadel Kukuk” in Turkish Cyprus Island.
