“Salvation Government” imposes new measures for bakeries as part of its measures to prevent the spread of Coronavirus   

Reliable sources have informed the Syrian Observatory that bakeries contracted with organizations in Idlib added two lira to the price of the bread pack, under the name of “cost of cleaning and disinfection”.

The “Salvation Government” in Idlib issued today a circular addressed to all bakeries spread in all areas controlled by “Salvation Government” in north-west Syria, to comply with instructions for bakeries to make healthy bread and free of diseases, and urging workers to abide by it, subject to liability, due to the spread of Coronavirus.

The circular specifies that: “checking up on a daily basis the health of all workers and when a worker develops symptoms of normal influenza should be prevented from entering the bakery until the type of infection is confirmed.

All workers should wash their hands with soap and water properly for 40 seconds, with washing fingers well before working and regularly hand washing every hour for packing and cleaning workers.

Sterilizing the workplace by spraying chlorine specially the tables where the bread is putted and filled and around them.

Making sure that all employees wear personal protective gear such as mask, gloves and hats.

Making sure to close the bread’s bag tightly.

After the work, mopping the floor of the bakery on a daily basis and spraying chlorine on the floor and walls for a height of two meters of worktables.

Mixing every 25 cm chlorine with a liter of water and using it on the same day, and ensure that it has no trace or smell left.

Specialized committees will check and inspect bakeries to ensure their safety.

We urge all bakeries to adherence to the highest standards of health and hygiene on personal and professional levels”.
