Turkish-backed “Al-Majd Corps” faction continues its violations in north-eastern and western Syria

SOHR sources say that members of Turkish-backed “Al-Majd Corps” faction stole homes and public property from towns in western Aleppo countryside.

The Syrian Observatory has obtained a video footage showing a member of “Al-Majd Corps” transporting stolen goods from the town of Al-Abzamo in western Aleppo countryside.

“Al-Majd Corps” faction led by defected Major Yasser Abdul Rahim since October 2018 and he was a member of the Astana delegation.

On March 6, SOHR sources reported that violent clashes took place with machine guns on the 5th of March 2020 in Kafifeh village in western countryside of Tal Abyad, which is controlled by Turkish-backed factions. According to Observatory sources, clashes erupted between “Al-Majd Corps” and “Al-Shamal Brigade”, after a dispute between them over how to divide the stolen “spoils” between them. The clashes left six members of those factions dead. The Turkish forces intervened to break up clashes between them.

Earlier this year, the Syrian Observatory monitored demonstrations in Al-Huriya Square in the City of Tal Abyad, demanding an end to the violations of the “National Army” factions there and the expulsion of “Al-Majd Corps” faction and the rest of the “National Army” factions from the city and handing over their affairs to the police. The demonstrations follow a brutal murder of a man by Turkish-backed “Al-Majd Corps” faction.
