Gunmen try to infiltrate Al-Quraya town as tension continues in rural Al-Sweida

The Syrian Observatory has monitored clashes with machine guns between local factions in Al-Sweida and armed groups, following the armed groups’ attempt to infiltrate the north-western outskirts of Al-Quraya town.

Reliable sources have informed SOHR that dignitaries of Al-Sweida and Daraa provinces are seeking to end the disputes between Sahil Hawran and Jabal Al-Arab. Preparation and coordination are being made for a meeting regarding this issue.

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that masked men set fire to a camp on the outskirts of al-Quraya town in rural Al-Sweida and then fled after shooting at them.

Meanwhile, security tensions continue to prevail in the area following violent clashes a few days ago between local factions in Al-Sweida and Busra al-Sham militants.

On March 28, SOHR sources reported that the bodies of six persons of Sweida were handed over to Jabal-Al Arab’s dignitaries by the Syrian Red Crescent. The handover took place in Ara area, west of Sweida.

The fighters were executed by Bosra al-Sham militants during the clashes.

Observatory sources added that tense calm has returned to southern rural Al-Sweida following the bloody events in the area.
