Unidentified gunmen kidnap six herders in Ma’adan desert 

SOHR sources say that unidentified gunmen believed to be from ISIS cells kidnapped six people working in cattle grazing in al-Aliji area of Ma’adan desert in rural Raqqa. No further information is available.

On March 18, the Syrian Observatory monitored an attack by unidentified gunmen targeting a military vehicle of regime forces near Ma’adan city in eastern rural Raqqa province. The attack left two regime soldiers dead and others were injured.

On March 7, the Syrian Observatory monitored more violations by the Iranian-backed militias in areas of their presence in al-Raqqah countryside. Two young men were shot dead by Iranian-backed militias near al-Maghla of Ma’adan area in the southeastern countryside of al-Raqqah.
