Jarabulus | “National Army” factions recover all headquarters captured recently by Jaysh and Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah

Syrian Observatory sources have reported that “Jaysh Al-Islam”, backed by other Turkish-backed factions of the “National Army” as well as the military police, have recovered all headquarters of factions whose fighters are from Deir Ezzor, in Jarabulus city in north-eastern countryside of Aleppo.

The recovered headquarters had been captured this morning by Jaysh Al-Sharqiyyah, Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah and other rebels from Deir Ezzor.

SOHR activists documented earlier the killing of a member of Jaysh Al-Sharqiyyah and a member of the Turkish-backed police, while five others sustained injuries because of the fierce clashes between Jaysh Al-Sharqiyyah and the military police in Jarabulus city in north-eastern Aleppo.

Syrian Observatory activists confirmed earlier this morning that armed fight among Turkish-backed factions was stepped up in Jarabulus city in the north-eastern countryside of Aleppo. Fierce clashes erupted in the early hours of Saturday morning between Jaysh Al-Sharqiyyah and Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah on one hand, and the military police and other factions on the other, over repeated disputes between both sides.

On the other hand, the factions of Ajnad Al-Sharqiyyah and the 106th Division whose fighters are mostly from Deir Ezzor have brought in military reinforcement from Afrin and Idlib, in support of Jaysh Al-Sharqiyyah and Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah. It is note worthy that the military police were backed in this fight by several factions operating under the banner of the Turkish-backed “National Army”, the most prominent of which were Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyyah, Jaysh Al-Islam and the 9th Division.

The fierce clashes left casualties in the ranks of conflicting parties.

Other factions of the “National Army” in the 3rd Corps formed interposition group and headed to Jarabulus this morning, in order to defuse the conflict there. These development came at a time when Turkish forces have turned a blind-eye to the ongoing bloody infighting among their proxy factions.

Meanwhile, tense calm was prevailing in the city after intervention of the interposition forces. However, the conflicting sides were on high alert.
