Security chaos in HTS-held areas | Unknown assailants storm military headquarters of HTS, and others try to steal vehicle belongs to “Al-Sham Corps”

SOHR activists say that an armed group tried this evening to storm the headquarters of Ahrar al-Sham’s artillery on the outskirts of the town of Al-Foua in Idlib countryside.  Meanwhile, HTS members responded to the assault and clashed with the attackers with machine guns. The attack left many injured among attackers.

On the other hand, Observatory sources have said that unidentified gunmen stopped a military vehicle belonging to “Al-Sham Corps” on the road of Idlib-Ma’rat Misrin, trying to steal the vehicle. No additional information has been reported.

On May 3, SOHR sources reported that unidentified gunmen raided the military headquarters of “Al-Sham Corps” near the town of Al-Fou’a, stealing all its contents from weapons and vehicles, and handcuffing all the members in the headquarters.

On May 2, Syrian Observatory sources confirmed that clashes by machineguns erupted in the area of Al-Nayrab-Sarmin in rural Idlib following a failed assassination attempt. According to SOHR sources, unknown assailants opened fire on the commander of “Al-Sham Corps”, who is close to the Turkish intelligence, leaving at least one member injured, while the attackers escaped via side streets in the area.
