Ras al-Ain | Residents demand Turkish-backed factions leave their city
The Syrian Observatory has monitored today a tension and anger between the residents of Ras al-Ain on the one hand, and Turkish-backd factions and police on the other.
The residents demanded the demilitarization of their city, and that military presence be relocated to countryside, while the city is witnessing a widespread discontent due to the practices of these factions in the areas of “Peace Spring”.
This development comes days after an armed fighting erupted among Turkish-backed factions.
On April 27, reliable sources informed the Syrian Observatory that armed fight among Ankara-backed factions renewed in several areas of rural Al-Hasakeh. Fierce clashes continue between the 20th Division and “Ahrar al-Sharqiya”, on frontlines in the villages of Harbouni and Al-Adwaniyeh in rural Ras al-Ain (Sari Kani) and other frontlines in the area there, as well as ongoing build-ups by both sides amid great tension in of Ras al-Ain and countryside.
