“De-escalation zone” dramatic developments | 22 regime soldiers and jihadists killed in attack by jihadi groups in Sahl Al-Ghab

Reliable sources have informed the Syrian Observatory that jihadi groups operating under the banner of “Wa Harred al-Mu’minin” operations room managed to capture “Tanjarah” village in Sahl Al-Ghab in the north-western countryside of Hama, following the fierce attack on regime positions since the early hours of Sunday morning.

 

Regime forces are attempting to take the lead under a cover of intensive shelling on the contested areas and other areas in Sahl Al-Ghab and the southern countryside of Idlib.

 

SOHR activists have documented the killing of 15 regime soldiers and loyal militiamen in today’s attack. Other seven jihadists, mainly of Hurras al-Din organization, were also killed in the same clashes. The death toll is expected to rise, since many combatants injured some of whom sustained serious injuries.

 

This death toll is the largest one since the new ceasefire in the “de-escalation zone” came into effect 66 days ago.

 

Syrian Observatory sources have just reported that regime forces fired many rockets in the early hours of Sunday morning, targeting places in Al-Ankawi, Qulaydin, Al-Qahera in Sahl Al-Ghab in north-western Hama, and Kansafra in the southern countryside of Idlib. Russian reconnaissance drones were monitored flying over Idlib city and its southern countryside.

 

Meanwhile, fierce clashes erupted following an attack by jihadi groups on regime positions in Al-Tanjarah area in Sahl Al-Ghab, amid confirmed reports about casualties.
