Assassination | Unknown assailants attempt to assassinate SDF commander in rural Al-Raqqa

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored this evening an attempt to assassinate a commander in the ranks of SDF with an improvised explosive device targeting his vehicle, in the area between Tal al-Saman and Hazima in the countryside of Al-Raqqa. Unidentified gunmen opened fire with machine guns on the vehicle. Several SDF members sustained injuries of various degrees of severity.

As security chaos is escalating in areas under the control of Syria Democratic Forces, SOHR activists reported, on May 12, that a person was found dead in Al-Karamah area, east of Al-Raqqah city. No further details were reported about the crime’s circumstances or the identity of perpetrators.
