Humanitarian crisis | Lack of safety measures in camps deepen the crisis, and fight leaves casualties, and fire breaks out in camp for displaced people in northern Idlib

Camp residents are living in tragic situations with the absence of humanitarian organizations’ role, in addition to widespread poverty and high unemployment, forcing families to find austere solutions to survive, and to adapt to nature in the winter cold and summer heat. Amid the lack of water and the use of primitive means of cooking inside the camps without taking preventive measures to maintain public safety, which may cause several disasters. Four tents were burned today in the “Peace Camp” in the village of Sheikh Yusuf, west of Idlib city, after a fire broke out in a primitive cooking way inside the tent.

Meanwhile, two civilians were killed and five others injured today as a result of a dispute over a water tank which has evolved into a fight between two families in a camp for displaced people near Deir Hassan in northern Idlib countryside.

Temperatures in north-western Syria are rising significantly compared to previous days, with about 35 degrees Celsius recorded in the past few hours, affecting the residents of tents that are not protected by the heat of summer.
