Rising tension in Daraa | Regime forces storm house in countryside arresting civilian, his wife and their son

Daraa governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR activists have reported that regime forces stormed this morning a house in the town of Ghabaghib in Daraa countryside, arresting a civilian, his wife and their son.

It is worth nothing that the head of the family is defected whose status was settled after the regime forces took over the areas of southern Syria under the settlement agreement.

On May 16, Syrian Observatory activists monitored new movements by regime forces in the area between Al-Yadoudah and Al-Muzayrib in the western countryside of Daraa. Meanwhile, former fighters of opposition factions were on high alert for fear of starting a military operation in the area.

On the other hand, regime forces fired a mortar attempting to strike a wheal loader affiliated to fighters of opposition factions nearby Al-Yadoudah. No casualties were reported yet.

On May 14, Observatory sources reported that a meeting was held for the past three days between representatives of the central committee in Hauran, and the Russian side, headed by the commander of Russian forces in south Syria.

The two sides reviewed all the outstanding issues and problems since the settlements deals with regime started in southern Syria. The meeting focused on the military build-up of regime forces and loyal militias in Daraa countryside.
