Rising tension | Fierce clashes erupt in Daraa city following yesterday’s kidnappings

Daraa Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR activists have confirmed that fierce clashes erupted in the area of Al-Kaziyah in Daraa Al-Mahattah in Daraa city, between ex-fighters in opposition factions and other fighters affiliated to “Mustafa Al-Kasam”, who had their security situations settled and joined the regime’s military security branch. The clashes come after kidnapping at least six young people from Daraa Al-Mahattah by the fighters of military security branch.

 

SOHR sources reported that several civilians were kidnapped in Daraa city by members who mediate reconciliation deals between opposition fighters and the Syrian regime and work for the regime’s military intelligence branch.

 

Meanwhile, military reinforcement of the regime’s 4th Division arrived at “Al-Aaw” checkpoint in Daraa Al-Balad in order to protect the kidnappers and deal with possible reaction by the area’s locals.
