Brokers exploit poor living conditions, promoting “the fight in Libya under Turkey’s command”

Turkish-backed factions are still exploiting the poor living conditions of the Syrian civilians and inhumane situation of displaced people, attempting to attract them to join fighting under Turkey’s command on the side of the “Government of National Accord” in Libya. Turkish-backed mercenaries transfer to Libya has created a new source of income for brokers throughout Syria.

According to SOHR sources, there are tens of brokers in Idlib and Aleppo with a task of encouraging fighters to join military operations in Libya. Some brokers try to attract people by financial incentives and monthly salaries, while some others resort to Muslim scholars’ Fatwas which legitimize the support of Turkey, the “Islamic State”.

A broker takes 100 USD from each fighter in addition to a financial commission from bureaus affiliated to Turkish-backed factions for recruiting mercenaries in northern Aleppo.

It is worth noting that children under the age of eighteen are also approved for recruitment, on condition that these children have undergone training courses and participated in previous battles.

SOHR activists have documented the killing of 318 Turkish-backed mercenaries in military operations in Libya, including 18 children under the age of eighteen, as well as some groups’ commanders.

The fatalities are of the factions “al-Mu’tasim Division, Sultan Murad, Suqur Al-Shamal Brigade, Al-Hamzat and Suleiman Shah”. According to very reliable SOHR sources, the fatalities were killed in clashes on frontlines of Salah Al-Din in the south of Tripoli, Al-Ramlah near Tripoli Airport, Al-Hadabah Project area, Misrata and other areas in Libya.
