Security chaos in Al-Raqqa | Locals find body of woman after unknown assailants broke into her home

Al-Raqqah Governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources say that residents found the body of a woman in al-Tawasuiya neighbourhood in the center of Al-Raqqa city, after unknown assailants broke into the victim’s house for the purpose of stealing in broad daylight.

According to the Syrian Observatory sources, kidnappings and armed robberies are on the rise in Al-Raqqa province, coinciding with the curfew imposed in areas controlled by “Self-Administration” and the difficult living situation suffered by the people.

On May 27, SOHR sources monitored widespread popular resentment in Al-Raqqah city following a murder took place in the city.

A child was found dead in a deserted building in Al-Raqqah city after being stabbed in his heart with a sharp tool. According to SOHR sources, some inner organs of the boy were missing after the autopsy. It is worth noting that the child went missing a few days earlier.

The murder has triggered widespread popular resentment in Al-Raqqah, amid appeals by the locals, via SOHR, to open wide investigation by SDF to determine the circumstances of this incident and hold the perpetrators accountable.

This murder comes as a part of deteriorating security chaos in SDF-held areas across eastern Euphrates region and Al-Raqqah.
