East of Deir ez-Zor | SDF arrests former ISIS member for “collecting zakat money”

Deir ez-Zor province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR activists say that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) arrested on Sunday morning a former member of the Islamic State group in the city of Al-Busayrah in eastern countryside of Deir al-Zour.

According to Observatory sources, the member was arrested for “collecting zakat money” from citizens for Islamic State cells active in the region.

On May 28, reliable sources informed SOHR that the International Coalition carried out an airdrop in Jadeed Ekaydat village in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor in the early hours of Thursday morning. Coalition forces with SDF besieged an area in the village after informing people there to stay indoors, via loudspeakers. The raiding forces have arrested four ISIS members, believed to be Iraqis.
