Al-Bab | Al-Safirah faction brings in military reinforcement to storm military police headquarters, following the arrest of woman

SOHR sources say that the Turkish-backed Al-Safirah faction was put on high alert this evening and brought in military reinforcement in order to storm military police headquarters in the city of Al-Bab, east of Aleppo, and free a woman from the city of Al-Safirah arrested by military police for “belonging” to the Islamic State.

SOHR reliable sources reported earlier that tension grew in Tukhar Kabeer village on frontline between areas under the control of the factions of “Euphrates Shield” operation and areas controlled by “Manbij Military Council”, in the north-eastern countryside of Aleppo.

According to SOHR sources, members affiliated to a faction of “Euphrates Shield” assaulted and harassed two girls in the village, igniting resentment and anger among village’s residents who attacked the faction’s headquarters, expelling the members and setting the headquarters on fire.

The faction brought in reinforcement later and closed the village’s entrances and opened fire indiscriminately on the angry residents, injuring five persons, including at least one child.

Meanwhile, tension is growing amid attempts by dignitaries to interfere and defuse the conflict.
