Aleppo | Fierce clashes erupt between Turkish-backed factions and Kurdish forces in Mare’

Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: fierce clashes erupted this dawn on frontlines in the south and west of Mare’ city in the northern countryside of Aleppo, between Turkish-backed factions and Turkish forces. The clashes were accompanied by shelling and exchange of fire, amid confirmed reports about casualties in the ranks of both parties.

SOHR sources reported last night that Turkish forces shelled Harbel village of the Kurdish-controlled Al-Shahbaa area in northern Aleppo with artillery. The shelling, which came after a week of tense calm in the area, coincided with overflight of unidentified reconnaissance drones over the area.

On May 31, Turkish forces shelled areas controlled by Kurdish forces in northern Aleppo countryside. According to Observatory sources, Turkish artillery targeted the vicinity of Tal Rifaat and Sheikh Issa, north of Aleppo. No casualties were reported.
