ISIS resurgence | Members attack regime forces, leaving casualties in deserts of Homs and Hama

SOHR activists say that three members of the regime forces and loyalists were killed and others wounded, in an attack this afternoon by the Islamic State members on their positions in al-Rawda area, east of Aqirbaat in eastern Hama countryside.

Meanwhile, members of the group carried out an attack on a checkpoint belonging to regime forces in countryside of Al-Sukhna city in the desert of Homs, killing four regime soldiers.

Reliable sources have informed the Syrian Observatory that regime forces and Iranian-backed militias started a new campaign this morning, sweeping the eastern desert of Deir Ezzor, from Al-Mayadeen to Faydat Ibn Muwani’.

According to SOHR source, several columns headed to the area and started a large-scale sweeping operation, searching for ISIS cells.
